Hi everyone, Elise here.

I wish this was a happy update, but unfortunately it isn't.

I started Maker Hub earlier this year with the goal of creating an accepting artist and creator community, which I think we've achieved. You've welcomed our little studio in the Riverview community and showed us great support. Doing classes and workshops and sharing the joy of creating has been an amazing experience.

However, I find myself forced to make the difficult decision to close our doors due to my health. I was ready to tackle a lot of challenges when I opened the studio, but this is one that I did not see coming. We are a small team of two and it is not realistic to keep the studio going under the current circumstances.

Here's how things will go:
-I had emergency surgery last Friday so the studio will be closed this week while I recover.
-The sewing basics part 3 workshop that was supposed to take place tonight is postponed to Wednesday Oct 1st, participants were contacted by email already with all the details.
-We will be open our regular hours Saturday Sept 27 and Sunday Sept 28 and we will run our last two weekend workshop.
-We will be open our regular hours Wednesday Oct 1st to Friday Oct 3rd (10AM-5PM) to allow everyone to tie up any loose ends, pick up 3D printed projects, etc.
-We will be running a 50% off sale on all storefront items (craft kits and supplies). Excludes consignment goods. The sale will start this Saturday and run until our last day.
-Our last day open to the public will be Friday, Oct 3rd.

Hi everyone,
Unfortunately tomorrow's Harvest Fest paint night has to be cancelled due to an emergency. We will be contacting everyone signed up and processing refunds asap.

Oops, the previous calendar was off by a day and I didn't notice until now! 😅 Thanks to those who pointed it out. Here's the correct calendar for September!

Heads up that we will be closed tomorrow, August 17 due to unforeseen circumstances. Thank you, see you Wednesday!

Our monthly paint night was a huge success! Everyone did such a great job.

Our next paint night will be September 20th, and will be harvest-themed 🍂

We are blown away by everyone's progress in yesterday's graphite pencil drawing class! 😲

We're tweaking our opening hours for the rest of the summer so we can enjoy a little bit of the nice weather while it lasts! ☀️
But don't worry- Wednesday night and the occasional Saturday night events are still happening. 😉

What can you do at the studio during our open hours when there's no class or workshop? Lots! Bring your own project and use one of our machines to bring it to the next level, explore new techniques and crafts through books in our resource library, do some painting/drawing/coloring using our tools and supplies shelf, take advantage of our large workspace, or just join us for a change of scenery and a cup of coffee!We have lots for kids and adults alike. 🙂

Here's a little weekend recap!
Saturday's stamp carving was tons of fun and everyone got to learn the stamp carving process and try out some inks.
Sunday we learned the Quilt As You Go technique and we made adorable little mug rugs.
