Riverview Fire and Rescue

Riverview Fire & Rescue today hosted a regional training session conducted by DNR and the Office of the Fire Marshal. Firefighters in your community are learning how to deploy structural protection units during wildland urban interface fires. This is an important new response capability in our region.

Members of RFR this weekend joined approximately 140 firefighters from around the province at the fire service workshop in Miramichi. Thank you to the NBAFC, NBCC and the OFM for organizing this event.

ISFSI was honored to deliver the ISFSI Live Fire Fixed Facility Credential to members of the Point Lepreau Emergency Response Team in Maces Bay, New Brunswick, Canada!

Hosted at the New Brunswick Power Corporation – Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station, this intensive program brought together dedicated emergency response professionals committed to strengthening their knowledge, sharpening their instructional skills, and advancing safe, effective live fire training.

August is typically the driest month of the year which means an increased risk of wildfires.

Be prepared by:

• Having an emergency and evacuation plan
• Removing fire hazards around your home
• Sealing windows and doors to protect from heavy smoke conditions
• Preparing an emergency kit and go-bag.

When fires threaten:

• Monitor local radio, television or social media for information, warnings, air quality conditions, alerts or evacuation orders
• Follow instructions from authorities and emergency officials.
• Be ready to leave
• Do not attempt to drive through a wildfire unless directed by emergency officials and always follow official evacuation routes
