Well I've posted enough sunsets and prairie views...this has been my visual for the last few nights. Thank goodness for GPS!

Sundown on the Paris of the prairies.
But it's canola.
Harvest Day 100

Rolling out!
We booked a lot of wheat to deliver this harvest. We're still rolling both SuperB's into the elevator while harvesting canola and running tridems field to farm.

Who can guess how many average loaves of bread worth of wheat we harvested this year? Prize to the closest couple guesses!

A lot of this kind of ingenuity required this year...

I think we've finally had a sign that the weather is going to turn!

After the wettest fall in at least a decade it's been very marginal progress since we finished barely 2 weeks ago. We've picked away at tough wheat a couple of days, but it's too wet to haul to the elevator and too wet for long term storage. It seemed like every tiny little cloud would send a shower to keep the grain from drying out. Finally at 6 pm today we got something around 17% that we could haul in to the elevator. Forecast looks great and hopefully time to hammer down!

Three days into and getting lots of help each day. Got our malting barley done late last night.

Looking for a big day to get the rest of our hulless barley off before a 2" rain is supposed to hit late tonight.

Decisions and logistics coming fast and furious every day so far. Will be super nice to be done pulses and barley and have the wheat and canola left. Always seems easier to get into the groove on those.

With a risk of rain tomorrow we went from the last lake day of summer, to harvesting a few hundred tonnes for the malt plant. Was a bit of a whirlwind day and a borderline call to make. Won't really know if it was the right one until later.

PS Henrik pumped right up to get out there!

Despite a late winter pushing seeding back a bit, barley is progressing well. The last few weeks have partially caught up our harvest timeline. One more filling rain would help some, but not showing any real stress today.
