It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Retired Salisbury Fire Chief Dave Bannister.

Chief Bannister served our community for over 40 years, including 22 years as Fire Chief. The longest in our department’s history. You could always find him behind the wheel driving Engine 20, or behind the pump providing water for the firefighters.

We extend our deepest condolences to his wife Helen, his daughters Cindy and Carla.

It was an honour working with you.

Salisbury Fire Rescue is having their annual Open House on October 3rd from 10am -2pm at the Salisbury Fire station located at 3105 Main Street.

We will be having a BBQ, inflatables for the kids, station tours and displays from our first responder partners.

We hope to see you there!!

Friday September 11th, 2026 at 9:00PM, members of SFR and other first responders line up and have a parade through the town.

The route is from the Legion to the Independent before heading back to the K&B Take Out. Here we will pause to reflect and remember the thousands of people who lost their lives on this day 25 years ago.

Among those lost were 343 firefighters,71 law enforcement personnel ,and 55 military personnel.

They will not be forgotten.

Seven members of Salisbury Fire Rescue have received special awards.

This week at the Town Council meeting, Fire Chief Brad MacLeod presented the members in attendance with the Green Cross Award in recognition of the department's response to an accident in which the Hurst Jaws of Life were used.
The recipients: Captains Roy Steeves and Ron MacEachern, and Firefighters Gilles Allard, Brandon MacLeod, Sean Ring, Justin Smith, and Stephen Stevens.

Highway 2 westbound from Moncton to Salisbury is CLOSED. RCMP is working on diverting traffic. Please drive with caution and expect delays.

Due to a collision, Route 2 westbound is closed near km 437 (Boundary Creek). Expect delays if you are travelling in the area.
