Triology is a supergroup of award-winning Canadian jazz musicians, with Jodi Proznick on bass, Miles Black on piano and Bill C**n on guitar. The trio was formed in 2008 and fashioned after the great early jazz trios of Nat King Cole and Oscar Peterson. All three members have won numerous accolades over the years, including JUNO nominations, National Jazz Awards, Galaxie Rising Star Awards and Western Canadian Music Awards. They have shared the stage with jazz stars such as Lewis Nash, George Coleman, David Fathead Newman, Ed Thigpen, Clark Terry, Max Roach and Harry "Sweets" Edison.

Triology will be performing wonderful impromptu arrangements of classic standards and original tunes. Set aside the date in your calendar — this show is not to be missed!

If your heart is full of hate towards LGBTQSia+ people you can't claim to also be a Christian.

Sometimes, on the last day of class, I hand out cards with versions of the Golden Rule on them. "Hurt not others in ways that you yourself would find hurtful." That one is from Judaism. "None of you is a believer until you love for your brother what you love for yourself." That one is from Islam. "This is the sum of duty: do not do to others what would cause pain if done to you." That one is from Hinduism.

The Jazz Implication Featuring Brent Mah
Thursday, September 24, 2026
7:00 PM 9:00 PM
The Nexus at First
450 Okanagan Avenue East, Salmon Arm

The Jazz Implication is coming back for another show at the Nexus! This group of rising young musical talents led by Liam Nadurak (trumpet) includes Jordan Dick and Dan Smith (guitars), Jake McIntyre-Paul (bass), and Will Friesen (drums).

For this show, the group also features prominent Canadian jazz saxophonist Brent Mah, from Vancouver. Brent is known for his dynamic performances across local and national modern jazz scenes. He frequently performs in top tier clubs and major events such as the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, leading his own groups or collaborating in notable ensembles such as the Stranger Friends Orchestra and various chamber jazz projects.

The Jazz Implication is known for pushing their interpretations of standards and originals into exciting new ground. A growing sense of adventure and camaraderie between the musicians is allowing for experimentation, blurring the lines of the traditional approach to trading solos. At times it becomes unclear where the soloist starts and the ensemble ends, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats.

Thanks to the generous donations of Jazz Club patrons, the group recorded some of Liam’s original compositions at Holy Cow Studios, a professional studio in Kamloops. The tracks have now been mastered and are available for you to check out on a variety of platforms here.

The group is inspired by the tradition of jazz but reinterpreted in the modern context. Each member brings their own authentic experience with music to the table to create a unique sound. Expect to hear a mix of some of their favourite traditional jazz standards mixed with original compositions that have never been performed publicly before.

Pope Leo XIV called for a “profound conversion” in how humanity uses its resources, saying destruction can still be redirected toward protecting life, helping the poor and caring for creation.
“It is not yet too late, and the Season of Creation calls us to a profound conversion: ‘What has been used for destruction can be redirected toward life, toward the care of the poor, the nourishment of the hungry, and the safeguarding of creation’.”
The pope spoke Sept. 1 during Mass for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation in Castel Gandolfo.

“Give us this day our daily bread.” Not mine, but ours – everybody’s. Our responsibility to the starving world is implicit in that sentence. As long as any part of the body is hungry, the entire body knows starvation.

Happy is the life lived with clear mind,
Happy is the heart that's pure and kind.
Happy is the soul where loving-kindness resides,
Mindfully living in the here and now,
Where peace shines bright to light the way.

Today is going to be our peaceful day.
May you and all beings be well, happy and at peace. 🙏
