Feel Free Salt Spring - Community Free Store

Dear Salt Spring Island,

I guess it’s time for me to make the official announcement. The Free Store is on indefinite hiatus. I loved every minute of collaboration and generosity that came with this endeavour... until I didn’t! Operating 2.5 business’ and being a full time mother leaves very little room passions of the heart and soul. It’s heartbreaking, but it is the time we live in.

We may resurface in the spring, or even in the dead of winter when we all need a little heart warmth, but for now and the foreseeable future, I bid you goodnight! 🌚

Thank you all for making this possible, for giving your well loved clothes, your time, your space and your money to our fundraisers. We did some good, y’all!

I encourage you all to continue the dream of the free store. Give your clothes and items, keep it local, and **kfastfashion ✊🏾✊🏻✊

Hey friends of the free store.

You may have noticed there was no donation drop off day this past last Friday of the month. I was away with my family on a much needed camping trip.

I’m not sure when I will reboot. My cup is feeling pretty empty these days. I love free storing with this island, AND launching and endeavour like this during a global crisis has taken a lot out of me. The next fundraising cause I we have planned is very important to me. We need help. We need volunteers. We need infrastructure. We need storage that isn’t my camper. We need security. We need organization. The rainy season is coming and I can’t rely on outdoor pop ups for much longer.

Today we are Raising money for the SS BIPOC Community Collective.

10% of sales from and will go to the Collective, a group of BIPOC that work to support people of colour in our community. Creating policies and actions that facilitate the dismantling of systemic racism in our community and beyond. Their Four Main Foci: Advocacy, Education, Outreach, and Activism

Make a donation or support the local business’ who in turn support our community.

This weekend several local business’ are donating a portion of their sales to Salt Spring’s local BIPOC Community Collective
