Kenya backs South Sudan’s December elections
NAIROBI - Kenya has backed South Sudan’s plan to hold general elections on Dec. 22, with President William Ruto urging political parties to pursue dialogue and consensus as the country prepares to end its prolonged transitional period. Ruto made the pledge after hosting South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit at State House in Nairobi on Monday. “Kenya stands ready to support South Sudan in this endeavour while encouraging dialogue and consensus among all parties,” Ruto said in a statement posted on his social media account....
