Congratulations to The Honourable Rosalie Silberman Abella (LLD'23), who received the 2026 Symons Medal for exceptional contribution to Canadian life and delivered the Symons Lecture in Charlottetown in September.
A former justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, Abella's remarkable career has been devoted to the advancement of justice, equity, and human dignity. She was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree at in 2023.

September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation for all of Canada.
will remain closed this day, Wednesday, September 30, which coincides with Orange Shirt Day so students, staff, and faculty can reflect on and participate in this integral day.
The annual Orange Shirt Day on September 30 opens the door to global conversation on all aspects of Residential Schools. It is an opportunity to create meaningful discussion about the effects of Residential Schools and the legacy they have left behind. A discussion all Canadians can tune into and create bridges with each other for reconciliation. A day for survivors to be reaffirmed that they matter, and so do those that have been affected.

graduate Micaela Ch*****ne (BSc'22), the CEO and co-founder of askîhk Research Services, is utilizing her education in archaeology to help support Indigenous communities as the search continues for missing children at residential school sites across the country. “Every outcome is decided and led by communities,” Ch*****ne said in a recent interview with the Green&White.

Sarah Khalid (BE’26), who completed her high school requirements in Saudi Arabia, decided to attend USask because of the entrance scholarship she was offered and the online sessions she attended about student life. In June, she graduated with a degree in engineering physics (with great distinction).
The Green&White recently asked the new alumna about her time at USask and her plans now that she has completed her degree.
