Progress and public transit matter. Downtown Saskatoon Business Improvement District supports both.
Our concerns about the proposed BRT/Link on 1st Ave aren’t about opposing progress or transit. They’re about ensuring the project serves everyone who relies on a vibrant, accessible, and functional downtown – from businesses and residents, to visitors, transit users, and service providers.
We believe that Saskatoon can achieve reliable transit while maintaining a thriving downtown, but getting there requires thoughtful planning and meaningful collaboration between all stakeholders.

The NSBA is pleased to witness the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Muskeg Lake Cree Nation and the City of Saskatoon, marking the beginning of negotiations related to the Downtown Event and Entertainment District.
We believe exploring a partnership with Muskeg Lake Cree Nation is a positive and forward-looking step for Saskatoon. The Cree Nation has a long and successful history of economic development and partnership in our city, and their participation could bring valuable expertise, investment opportunities, and a unique perspective to this important project.
A partnership of this nature has the potential to strengthen both the economic and cultural impact of the DEED, while supporting a more vibrant, inclusive, and prosperous future for Saskatoon.
