Both our 15U and 18U teams reached the Finals this weekend at the Beat the Heat tournament in Edmonton hosted by The Showdown Series , and played some of our basketball of the season. The chemistry, trust, and willingness to compete for one another were on full display.
Our season didnβt end with a championship, but it ended with something weβre just as proud of. They stayed together and represented our club with character and integrity until the final buzzer.
Thatβs the culture weβre building. The Stutter Steps culture.
To our players, thank you for trusting the process and showing what Stutter Steps Hoop Club is all about. Weβre proud of how you .
To our parents, families, and supporters, thank you for your constant support throughout the season.
How we finished the season gives us plenty to be proud of, and reminds us weβre just getting started. We know what weβre capable of and weβre excited to keep building.
SS Hoop Club Season 2 is in the books. Time to rest, recharge, and come back even better for 3!πͺπ½

HISTORY. πβ€οΈπ§‘π€
Our 15U team brought home the FIRST championship in Stutter Steps Hoop Club history this weekend at the Premier Prairie Classic tournament in Moose Jaw, SK.
Two seasons in the making. Earned, not given.
A lot of these boys were part of the early days of our club. Tough losses. Blowouts. Winless tournaments. Long weekends where things did not go our way at all. But they stayed with it. They kept showing up. They kept working.
And this weekend, they finally got rewarded for it.
Down to just 7 players all tournament long, our boys battled through adversity and found a way to earn GOLD.
This championship is special because every player has a different story behind it. Some have been through the struggles with us since last season. Some are brand new to the club and bought into the culture right away. One only gets to play with us once a year because he lives out of town. But this weekend, they came together as one team and made history together.
We are incredibly proud of this group.
And while the championship was the highlight, we are equally proud of the fight shown by our 17U and Open HS teams all weekend long. Both teams dealt with adversity in different ways, but continued to compete, stay together, and represent the club the right way.
That final Open HS game especially showed what our culture is about. Emotions were high, things got heated, but our players, parents, and supporters stayed composed and stuck to our standards. That growth matters.
Thank you to everyone who supported us through the crazy weather, long days, and emotional weekend.
This is a special moment for our small basketball club. More work ahead, but first ones will always mean something different.

Strong weekend for Stutter Steps Basketball in Prince Albert. π
Both our 15U and Open HS teams finished 3-1 at the Thunder Tournament, with both losses coming against the eventual champions in their respective divisions. Proud of the way our players competed and represented the program all weekend.
But beyond basketball, this trip was also a reminder of what this club is about.
From players helping tutor each other and keeping up with schoolwork between games, to teammates stepping up so another player could make the trip, this weekend showed the kind of culture weβre continuing to build at Stutter Steps.
Team chemistry continues to grow, and itβs been great seeing how much these players genuinely enjoy being around and playing for each other.
We also want to wish a speedy recovery to one of our team captains after an unfortunate injury during the tournament. πͺπ½
