Strides Toronto provides a range of programs and services in east Toronto to clients from the pre-natal stage to age 29 and their families, to help them move forward, develop their abilities and skills, and reach their full potential.

π£ Looking for hands-on support as you navigate the Ontario Autism Program (OAP)? π£
Strides Toronto is offering FREE educational workshops and family events for parents and caregivers of children with autism.
This month, we'll be offering workshops on topics such as: βοΈ Toilet Training, βοΈ Letting Go of Favourite Items, βοΈ Screentime Habits and more! We'll also be hosting a Family Meetup: Halloween Edition π on the morning of October 31 at our Middlefield location.

These workshops offer a chance to connect with other families in the autism community and are a great way to learn helpful strategies you can start using with your child right away. Many run as 30-minute "Lunch & Learn" sessions you can attend during your lunch hour.
Attendees must already be registered with the OAP. Spots are limited and available first come, first served.

The Autism Caregiver Support Group offers a safe space for parents and caregivers of children with autism to connect and share their experiences.
Each month, we will focus on a different topic in a forum setting where families can discuss their opinions and support one another.
The Autism Caregiver Support Group:
π Meets on the second Thursday each month from 10:00 AM β 11:30 AM
π Runs for six months, from September 10, 2026 to February 11, 2027
π Takes place by video or phone via our secure ZOOM platform
Join us for any single session or attend them all. This month, we'll discuss navigating school supports.

oon.Tree of Life is a free 6-week art-based counselling program where youth participants use the tree as a metaphor to tell stories about their lives, highlighting what makes them unique. π³
Tree of Life runs every Monday from October 19 to November 28, from 5:30 PM β 7:00 PM and is open to youth ages 10β13.
Participants will examine different parts of their journey while building their very own Tree of Life, through areas such as:
π Exploring your roots
π Growing your skills
π Dreaming about your future
π Recognizing important influences
π Weathering the Storm
πTree of Life runs in-person at the Strides Toronto main office, located at 100 Consilium Place, Suite 600, Scarborough.

The October Newcomer Youth Engagement Program calendar is live! ππ
Open to youth ages 12β21 who are Permanent Residents or Convention Refugees, the Newcomer Youth Engagement Program is a place to connect, discover, create, and prepare for the future while building friendships and enjoying new experiences along the way.
This month offers a ton of activities from exploring fall flavours and crafting, to informative discussions and a field trip!

Triple P for Baby is a FREE group program designed to help new parents feel more confident as they navigate life with their baby. Over four sessions, youβll learn practical positive parenting strategies to help you understand your babyβs cues, cope with frequent crying, encourage healthy sleep habits and adjust to the changes that come with a growing family.

Strides Torontoβs Tree of Life is a FREE 6-week, in-person art counselling program where youth ages 10β13 can explore who they are, where they come from and what they hope for their future through creativity and connection.
Using the tree as a metaphor, participants will reflect on the people and experiences that have shaped them, recognize their strengths and explore ways to weather lifeβs storms. As each tree comes together, so does a forest where youth can see that theyβre not navigating life alone.
