🧡 September 30 marks Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🙌
Today and everyday, we honour Survivors of residential schools, the children who never returned home, and the families & communities who continue to carry the impacts of the residential school system.
Truth comes before reconciliation.
Reconciliation asks us to do more than remember on September 30. It asks us to listen to Survivors and First Nations voices, learn the truth, challenge racism, and consider what we will carry forward throughout the year.
At the First Nations Health Foundation, we also recognize that this history is inseparable from health and wellness. The impacts of colonialism continue to shape experiences of healthcare and the health & wellness of First Nations families and communities today.
This September 30, we invite you to reflect:
What will you learn?
Who will you listen to?
What will you do differently?
If giving is one way you choose to act, your donation to the First Nations Health Foundation supports First Nations-determined priorities in health, wellness, and healing across BC.
🧡 Every Child Matters.

Reconciliation asks something of all of us.
To listen.
To learn.
To support First Nations-led solutions and healing.
And to consider what action looks like in your own community.
What we do with what we learn matters. This year, let’s honour truth with action.

We had an amazing time beading, painting, and weaving with our friends at First Nations Health Authority during their staff picnic! It was a joy to get to know more of the incredible staff team who ensure that self-determined health and wellness services are delivered to BC First Nations 🙌
Our tent was a space where people could gather, be creative, and have a moment of focus in an otherwise busy environment—also, most importantly, we had fun! 🫶 Thanks to Ashley Michel for the beading supplies and Red Cedar Woman Weaving Studio for leading cedar weaving 🤗

🙌🏾 We raise our hands in gratitude to everyone who donated an item, placed a bid, or helped spread the word about the Path Lighter Online Auction. Your generosity raised vital funds for tutulshenam-áwtxw (Healing House) and brought community together in support of this vision.
Congratulations to all of our winning bidders!
With construction on the horizon, we continue working to secure the remaining funding needed to bring tutulshenam Healing House to life.
tutulshenam will fill a critical gap in healthcare on the Sunshine Coast, creating a space for culturally grounded healing, detox, treatment, and whole-person recovery rooted in dignity, connection, and care.
Follow along as we move toward construction, and learn more at tutulshenam.org
