Norfolk OPP is reminding boaters and visitors that safety comes first as thousands of people prepare to head to Lake Erie’s Pottahawk Point for the annual Pottahawk Sunday gathering.

Officers will be stationed at local marinas and patrolling Lake Erie throughout the day. Constable Gamble assures us that vessel inspections will be conducted.

Anyone who sees a suspected impaired boater or a marine emergency is asked to call 9-1-1 or contact the Canadian Coast Guard on VHF Channel 16.
