🏆 TOURNAMENT CHAMPS

This past weekend the 13U team, (sponsored by Sierra Construction Group), travelled up to Owen Sound to compete in the Battle on the Bay and came home as Champions!

Starting out on Friday afternoon, the team faced Welland Junior Jackfish. The team had a dominating second inning, scoring seven runs, which helped propel them to a 12-2 win.

The Giants clearly liked the 12-2 score, as they decided to repeat it in their first game on Saturday against the Thornhill Reds. Later in the day they faced a local opponent, Tillsonburg Otters, and although they led the entire game, solidified the win with seven runs in the fifth, ending the game with a 15-3 win.

The Giants carried the momentum into Sunday as they faced the Owen Sound Junior Baysox and pulled off a decisive 14-1 win. In the Finals, the Giants faced the Essex Yellowjackets and, although the team had a collective strong showing both offensively and defensively, it was the 3-run homer that put them up by 10 and to gave them the 20-9 win via mercy in the bottom of the 6th.

Congratulations, Giants!

⚾️ TOURNAMENT WEEKEND

It’s a Tournament Weekend for three of our SMBA teams!

Our 13U team, (sponsored by Sierra Construction Group), is headed up to Owen Sound to compete in the Battle on the Bay.

Our 16U team, (sponsored by Kaley's Restaurant And Kaley's Kakes), is headed over to Quinte to compete in the Royals A and Under Tournament.

Back home, our 9U team, (sponsored by The Roost at Ramblin' Road Brewery Farm), is hosting the 9U/Mosquito A and Under Tournament.

This tournament, featuring 16 teams, takes place at Lions Park and Stalker Park, with our Giants competing on Diamond 2 at Lions Park for the following Round Robin games:

Friday @ 6pm
Saturday @ 9am and 2pm

Due to the ongoing Air Quality Health Index alerts, SMBA has had to make the difficult decision to cancel the 11U/Mosquito A and Under Tournament.
