Did you know your mouth and your heart are connected?
Researchers have found that gum health and heart health tend to go together, largely because of the way inflammation moves through the body. It is one more gentle reminder that looking after your teeth and gums is really about looking after all of you.
None of this has to be perfect.
Brushing twice a day, flossing when you can, and keeping up with cleanings.
This World Heart Day, consider it a small act of self care. If you would like to check in on your gum health, you can always find me at PolishedSmiles.ca.

It feels natural to back off when you see a little pink in the sink, but easing up often lets things linger. Gentle, consistent care in those spots is usually what settles them. If brushing and flossing haven't cleared the bleeding within a couple of days, it may be time for a cleaning to lift the hardened plaque that home care can't reach, and you are always welcome to have Lianne take a look.

That first week back is done, and everyone's routines are slowly clicking into place. Once the lunches are packed and the drop-offs are handled, the small bit of care you're owed is the easy thing to let slide. Brushing morning and night, and a cleaning when you're due, is a quiet way to keep your own health on the list too. Whenever you're ready, I'm here. polishedsmiles.ca

no judgment, no lectures, just a comfortable chair, your favourite show playing, and a hygienist who remembers your name.

Plaque is soft and comes off at home, but once it hardens into tartar it settles in for good until a professional cleaning lifts it away. That is really the whole purpose of your regular scaling visit, and there is no judgment here about how long it has been.
