50 games for the Axemen. What a milestone, Giles Calder.

If you’ve spent any time around Giles, you’ve probably heard him complaining about something at full volume. He is Scottish, after all. But the things that really define him tend to happen quietly.

Giles has been part of this club for years. He’s a smart, incredibly talented player, and an even better clubman. He took on our school programs, ran our U18s through their first ever season, and continues to give young players the opportunities he had, without asking for anything in return. Well, maybe a little more time on the physio table.

He checks in on teammates and young players when they need support. He helps our youth program grow. And when a kid asks for help with their kicking after touch rugby, he’ll stay another half hour in the fading light to work with them.

As we celebrate Giles’ 50th game on the field, we’re celebrating everything he does beyond it too - congrats! 🪓

HOME OPENER 🪓

A split result for the Senior Men in their first games of the season.

Division 1: 10–17 vs Kelowna Crows
Division 3: 36–0 vs Kelowna Crows

Not the result Division 1 wanted, but plenty to build on. Division 3 came out firing with a big shutout to kick things off. 💪

This Saturday, we’re back at Brennan Park. Div 1 takes on Cowichan, while Div 3 has the week off.

See you on the sidelines!
