On this day of Truth and Reconcilation my heart has been called to go beyond orange shirt day, to live each day as a reminder of the origins of orange shirt day. To look at why truth and recocilation is important work.

And that is simply because of the children.

Children are sacred beings and our job is to protect, guide and teach them as they grow through life ...and thats EVERY child. These are our teachings.

The history as spoken by those who endured, witnessed, experienced...

Those precious children were taken.
Those innocent children had unspeakable wounds inflicted
Those hurt, scared, lost children came home to broken families...and in cases many homes gone.
And some children never made it home.

All because they were born, born to the wrong color, culture or place.

This is a hard piece of Canadian history that cannot be erased

My work has always been committed in creating inclusive spaces where all children belong. They are safe, protected and celebrated. Today I work hard to respectfullly reflect curriculum with valuable cultural and land based teachings from my orgins from Kahkewistahaw and the Squamish Nation community I reside in.

Children ARE Sacred ❤️ each and every one.

Im learning, learning to listen, to heal and allow healing for others. Today raise my voice in support. Its about speaking truth, listening and moving forward collectively...united. To stand proud in my First Nations roots knowing the culture will NOT be lost, it cannot be taken and communities are reclaiming culture proudly! And how beautiful our cultures is!

We hold ALL hold a responsibility to walk forward, acknowledging the unjustified actions that took place in day schools, residential schools, Indian schools or the 60 scoop... which all devestated and impacted the lives of many, many Canadian First Nations Children, youth and first nations people.

Many communities are still healing from the generational trauma. Together its time to allow communities to heal and reclaim their culture with pride and honor.

Time to stand unified ...and let every generation of CHILD HEAL

Tonight's elves brought some finishing touches to our Gingerbread themed classroom thats started it all!!! Beautifully crafted by Janaya Dosanjh and adorns the entrance to the House area. Complimented with a lovely handmade lit fireplace...Gingerbread cookies and hot choclate all around!

We will have some busy children come morning!
