🌲 Celebrate National Forest Week! | September 20–26 🌳
This National Forest Week, take a moment to appreciate the incredible role trees and forests play in our environment and communities!
Whether you head out for a forest hike, plant a tree or teach a child about the importance of trees, there are plenty of ways to celebrate.
Did you know?
🌳 Tree roots help stabilize riverbanks and prevent soil erosion, while their canopies slow rainfall and help manage runoff.
🐦 Oak trees provide important habitats for hundreds of species of birds and insects.
💧 A 10-foot-tall spruce tree can absorb and use 75–100 litres of water per day during the summer.
🌎 A single mature tree can absorb up to 150 kg of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and release healthy oxygen in exchange. It is estimated that one large tree can provide a day’s supply of oxygen for up to 4 people.
Explore Ritchot's Trails! 🚶♀️
We’re fortunate to have some wonderful forest pathways right here in our community, including:
📍 Grande Pointe Community Centre
📍 Forest Meadow Trail, Grande Pointe
📍Trail in the Grande, Grande Pointe
📍 Baudry Trail in Ste. Agathe
📍 The Friendship Trail in St. Adolphe

Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure (MTI) will begin work to remove a portion of the old St. Adolphe d**e starting approximately September 8, 2026.
Work is expected to take 4–6 weeks, weather permitting, and will include excavation, movement of construction equipment and materials, and site restoration. Excavated material will be reused as part of the new St. Adolphe d**e near the Pump Station and Gravity Outfall Project.
Residents may notice increased noise, dust and construction traffic during this time. Access to the work area will be restricted to authorized personnel.
Please note that the remainder of the old d**e/road will not be removed at this time and will be addressed as part of a future project.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation while this work is underway.
