Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process. On September 30, we encourage all Canadians to wear orange to honour the thousands of Survivors of residential schools.

Just a reminder to our community near the SERC site, the intersection of Matilda and Oakdale will be closed between 3:15pm and 6:00pm today for our annual Pat Cook Memorial Run. As well, due to the construction on the Track Field, the race will start on the tennis court soccer field and end on the small field beside the baseball diamonds on Matilda. Thank you in advance for your consideration and attention in keeping our amazing runners safe.

Today we celebrate the feast day of St. Michael, the Archangel. He is the patron of soldiers, police and doctors. St Michael CSS
