We celebrated the first week of the 2026/2027 school year with the most delicious Pancake Breakfast. We are extending a huge thank you to the Strathmore Lions Club for cooking us pancakes and sausages right on site. This day was a great way to connect within our homeroom classes and as a whole school.

Niitsitapi Club is meeting every Thursday during lunch in the Art Room. Any Cougar is welcome to be a part of Niitsitapi and learn more about Indigenous culture.
Also - Chief and Council & Princess and Warrior applications are in the office. Pick up a form, complete it, and return by September 24th to the office.

Welcome to September Hot Lunch!
Hey Cougars! We made a mistake earlier. The FIRST Drama Club meeting is Tuesday September 8th in the Theatre, 3:30-4:30pm. But then ALL Drama Club meetings after that will be on MONDAYS 3:30-4:30. Reminder that Drama Club is open to all students who have an interest in acting or helping with plays.

Our Cross Country team is starting up this week as well. Are you interested in long distance running? Come to the meeting in Mr. Matheson’s room (202) at lunch on Tuesday for more information and to sign up. Anyone in any grade can join the Cross Country team.

CMJHS Terry Fox Run fundraising has kicked off. Terry never quit on his dream of a world without cancer, and neither will we. Our run is Friday, September 18! Last year we raised $3800.00.
There are four ways to donate to CMJHS in support of cancer research.
1. Students can bring in their pledge sheet and donations to their Homeroom teacher.
2. Students can set up a Student page at https://schools.terryfox.ca/136067 and share it to others to donate online
3. Students can bring in cash donations to their Homeroom teacher and the team will submit the donations.
4. You can donate online to our school at https://schools.terryfox.ca/136067.
Come join the CMJHS Drama Club! It is Tuesdays after school in the theatre, from 3:30-4:30. The first one is on Tuesday, September 8th. Any student who has an interest in acting or helping out with plays is welcome to join. For more information, talk to Mr. Hvingelby.
