Normally, you wait until something is completely finished before showing it off.
But we don't want to do that.
We don't want you to only see the beautiful finished product. We want you to see the journey — the ideas, the hours, the mess, the mistakes, the building, the painting and eventually… the finished board.
Because this truly is a family effort. ❤️
We aren't set up in some big fancy shop with a huge production team behind us. We're a family company. A lot of this happens behind the scenes on our weekends — designing, cutting, building, painting, making fidgets, testing things out and sometimes starting all over again.
And that's exactly how we want it to be.
We started as a family company, we choose to remain a family company, and no matter how much we grow, we never want to lose that.
There are already MANY hours into this first Mountain Sensory Board, and we're still going. But nothing makes our family happier than knowing something we're creating with our own hands could eventually put a smile on someone's face. ❤️
At Compassion First, we run programs for youth and adults with disabilities, so we see firsthand that sensory needs are different for everyone. Something one person loves may not work at all for someone else.
As parents ourselves, we also know what it's like to order sensory products online, spend the money and hope this is going to be the one… only for it to arrive and break, not hold their interest, or simply not be right for them.
That's a huge reason we're doing this.
We want these boards in our centers where people can actually touch them, explore them and TRY them. We want families to be able to see what their child or loved one is drawn to before spending their money.
And eventually, we want to be in your homes too. ❤️
We want to create something that can help with sensory regulation, keep hands busy, provide comfort and engagement, encourage exploration — or simply bring a really big smile.
🏔️ Our Mountain Board is finally in the painting stage.
🍭 Candy Lane is already designed and built, and we're busy making all of its fidgets now.
And there is SO much more happening behind the scenes.
So we're not waiting until everything looks perfect to show you.
You're coming along with us. You'll see the building. The painting. The mistakes. The changes. The finished boards. And eventually, you'll see why we spent all those weekends doing it.
Because at the end of the day, we aren't trying to become some big fancy company.
We're a family building things for other families — with our own hands, a whole lot of love, and the hope that something we create might make someone's day just a little bit better. ❤️

Yesterday was a pretty special day — our wonderful Timmy turned 19! 🥳💙
Timmy is part of our Adult Day Program here at Compassion First, and we are so lucky to have him as part of our crew. He brings his own personality, smiles, and fun to our days, and we hope he knows just how special he is to all of us.

A Huge Milestone for Our Employment Program! ✨

Our incredible team of makers officially received their first pay from our Treats with a Purpose project. After covering the cost of supplies, each participant earned $20 from the dog and cat treats they worked so hard to create!

To many people, $20 may not seem like a lot. But to our clients, it represents so much more.

It represents:
🐾 Hard work.
🐾 Teamwork.
🐾 Responsibility.
🐾 Learning new skills.
🐾 The pride of earning a paycheck.

Our goal has never been just to make treats—it's been to create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals who may not have access to traditional jobs. Today, they got to experience what it feels like to earn something that was truly their own, and the smiles on their faces said it all.

Every bag of treats you purchase is doing more than supporting a small business. You're helping create opportunities, build confidence, develop life skills, and show our clients that their work has value.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has supported this journey so far. Your encouragement, purchases, and shares are making a real difference.

Here's to many more paydays, many more proud moments, and proving that everyone has something valuable to contribute. ❤️
