PUBLIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVING ARREST

๐Ÿ“‚ 2026-1428737

A complaint from the public led to the arrest of a 40-year-old Prince County man for impaired driving on Sunday evening.

At approximately 8:20 PM, police received a call reporting a vehicle driving erratically in the north Granville Street area. Police attended and located the vehicle in the McDonalds parking lot, with the driver seated on the roof of the vehicle drinking an alcoholic beverage.

The man showed significant signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene. He later refused to provide breath samples and was lodged in jail overnight. The man will be appearing in court at a later date to answer to impaired driving related charges.

Summerside Police Services would like to thank the public for their continued cooperation in combatting impaired driving across Prince Edward Island. Police encourage anyone who suspects they may be witnessing an impaired driving incident to call 911 or their nearest police agency.
