KPU has partnered with BC Hydro to install 13 new electric vehicle charging ports, expanding convenient charging access for students, employees and the broader Richmond community.

The new charging hub includes eight DC fast-charging ports and five Level 2 ports. The fast chargers can add up to 100 kilometres of driving range to an average EV in approximately 10 minutes.

Expanding EV charging infrastructure is one of the ways KPU is working toward its goal of achieving carbon-neutral campuses by 2050.

KPU's Dean of Science, Brett Favaro joined Adrian Dix, Minister of Energy and Climate Solutions and BC Hydro to announce the expansion of EV charging across B.C. KPU Richmond is now a part of that network as nine new BC Hydro chargers are available on that campus for all to use.

For Accessibility Week at KPU, faculty members, staff and students had the opportunity to learn about inclusive game design. The All Access Play talk by Alex Carey, at Play-Ability, and Nicole Whitford, at Technology for Living, gave the audience valuable insights into why inclusive game design matters! Other partners - Makers Making Change and BC Cerebral Palsy, as well as barrier consultants, such as Ross Minor for blind barriers in games - showed the audience how to incorporate accessibility into their creations, and how to adapt hardware and gamepads.

We always appreciate having such informative speakers share their knowledge with the KPU community.
