Studio Seventy Three

Yesterday our team spent the morning volunteering at the Surrey Food Bank, helping prepare bags of non-perishable food for community members.

Thanks to Stephanie for suggesting this volunteer opportunity!

Giving back to our community is something that's important to all of us at Studio 73, and it was wonderful to spend the day alongside other volunteers making a difference. It was amazing to see how much can be accomplished when everyone pitches in.

We're so grateful for the opportunity to help and are already looking forward to volunteering again. Thank you to everyone at the Surrey Food Bank for welcoming us - we'll definitely be back!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to help us assemble care packages for members of our community, including Co-operators, Harry Bains, Sources Community Resource Centres, Obsidian Property Management, Guardteck Security, Newton Business Improvement Association, Raymond Immigration, and the many community members who stopped by to lend a hand!

Thanks to a grant Fatima received from the City of Surrey, we were able to put together over 60 care packages for people in our local community. 🎉

A special thank you to Jay from Sources Community Resource Centres for helping us ensure the items included would be practical and helpful for those receiving the care packages.

We had such a fun evening at the Long Long Table hosted by the Downtown Surrey BIA!
It was so nice to spend the evening with so many people over a delicious dinner, while enjoying the beautiful harp music of Michelle Klimchuk.
It was great to see The Mayor of Surrey Brenda Locke again, and we also had the chance to meet the CEO of the Downtown Surrey BIA, Madeleine Nicholls.
We also loved the performance by the Paul Latta Dance Studios and our caricatures from Corycatures!

Meet Stephanie!
Stephanie creates bright, colourful fused glass pieces, including work featured in the studio’s Give Back collection. Many of her designs are inspired by nature scenes and reflect a love for colour and creativity.

Meet Mridu!
Born in South India and now based in Surrey, Mridu developed an interest in art that continued to grow through her work at the studio. She creates colourful abstract pieces alongside artwork inspired by social justice themes and cute animals.

We’ve been busy working on two very large orders, but we’ve still managed to squeeze in a few pieces for our shelves!

Fatima has recreated her evil eye coaster set, Jill has brought back her beautiful pride feather, and Mridu has created this stunning wildflower piece.

Meet Kurt!
Kurt first discovered a love for art as a young teen and has continued to build on that passion through fused glass. He specializes in highly detailed pieces featuring intricate scenery, with a strong focus on animals and nature.

Meet Jill!
A member of the Squamish Nation, Jill draws inspiration from both her culture and the natural world. Alongside her fused glass artwork, she also creates social justice pieces as part of the studio’s Give Back collection.
