It’s a busy couple of weeks at the Port of Sydney!

Between September 28 and October 11, we’re expecting approximately 31,800 passengers and 18,600 crew, bringing more than 50,400 visitors to Cape Breton.

That includes two triple-ship days and two double-ship days, creating plenty of activity along the Sydney waterfront and throughout our community.

If you’re downtown, come experience the energy, welcome our visitors and stop by the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion.

Today, the Port of Sydney joins people across Canada in recognizing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

As an organization operating in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq, we are grateful for the opportunity to live and work here.

Today, we encourage our community to take time to listen to Indigenous voices, learn more about our shared history and reflect on the role each of us can play in reconciliation.

Come hungry to the Big Fiddle Family Festival!

The first 100 guests will receive a free $5 food voucher to use at any of our participating food vendors.

Join us today, September 24 from 4 to 7 PM at the Big Fiddle for an evening of free family fun, live entertainment, activities and great local food.

Vouchers are available while supplies last and must be used during the event.

Joining us this afternoon? There are two convenient parking areas within a short walk of the Big Fiddle Family Festival. Check out the map before you head down and follow signage when you arrive.
