True story...4 months ago I'm on my computer working away and I look over and my Son, who is on his iPad, is having a meltdown. He's repeating "they stole my brain rot!" I had no clue what he was talking about. I quickly learned that Roblox has a game called Steal a BrainRot. I looked into this and it turns out kids around planet, who are playing this, are regularly crashing out. For me, it was a turning point. Rather than get rid of the iPads I decided to build something...
I’m testing an early idea called BrightThrive to help families build healthier screen habits, without the battles.

💚 A quick note to everyone who’s been here for a while…
If you’ve followed this page since the Downtown Nutrition days, thank you. DTN hasn’t been part of my day-to-day life for a number of years now, but this community has always meant a lot to me, and I truly appreciate everyone who’s stuck around.
Over the past few years, my path has shifted. I’ve been learning, building, and moving in a new direction, one that’s very close to home for me as a parent.
Long gone are the days of blending smoothies and now as a 52-year-old dad, I never imagined I’d be negotiating screen time like an international peace treaty.
Between iPads, YouTube, Roblox, and “just five more minutes,” things can get… spirited 😅
So instead of yelling, I decided to try building something.
That something is BrightThrive, an early, parent-first project designed to help families turn screen time into healthier habits (and fewer nightly negotiations).
