I was an MLA when forestry cuts were proposed in BC. We tried, as BC Liberals to explain how this would affect workers, families and communities.
We didn’t have the votes in the Legislature and the cuts happened.

Another difficult day for Quesnel and another blow to the families who depend on forestry.

The announced temporary shutdown at Quesnel River Pulp is deeply concerning. My thoughts are with the workers, their families and everyone in the community who will feel the impact of this decision.

We cannot accept the continued erosion of good-paying forestry jobs in B.C. Our forest sector needs certainty, access to fibre and a competitive environment that allows mills to operate and workers to stay employed.

I will continue standing with Quesnel’s forestry workers and pushing for policies that protect good-paying jobs and keep our forestry communities strong.

On June 30th, I sent a letter to the Minister of Finance and National Revenue regarding the ongoing CRA audits affecting residents of Haida Gwaii.

Unfortunately, the Minister’s response avoided responsibility and failed to address the concerns raised by the people of Skeena—Bulkley Valley. In doing so, he also contradicted the commitments outlined in his own mandate.

Today, I sent a response calling on the Minister to take responsibility and provide answers to the people of Haida Gwaii.

Read my letter below.

My staff will be in Stewart on Saturday, August 8, hosting a Pop-Up Office at the Al Lawrence Memorial Arena from 10 AM to 4 PM.

This is an opportunity to meet with my staff, discuss any concerns you may have, and receive assistance with a variety of federal programs and services listed in the graphic.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend in person as I'll be in Granisle for Granisle Day, but I encourage everyone in the area to stop by and connect with my team.

The rain cleared just in time for Riverboat Days in Terrace on Saturday for the parade!

It was great to see such a fantastic turnout for the parade and so many people out celebrating together.

A big thank you to my volunteers for handing out candy, and to the organizers and everyone who worked hard to make this year’s Riverboat Days another great success.

It is clear that banning single-use plastics for groceries—especially for products like fresh meat—is simply not practical and would only lead to more food waste.

Will the Liberal government admit that banning single-use plastics for groceries is off the table?

A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to tour the Cedar LNG project in Kitimat alongside my Conservative colleagues Tamara Jansen and Billy Morin .

It was great to see the progress being made on Canada's first Indigenous majority-owned LNG project. This is a long-time vision that is finally coming to life. Cedar LNG is creating jobs, strengthening our economy, and demonstrating how responsible resource development and Indigenous leadership can go hand in hand.

Thank you to the Cedar LNG team for the tour and for the work you're doing to help build a stronger future for Northern BC and Canada.
