It took me a while to record this one.

16 months after my second iboga experience, I’m still in integration — and it hasn’t been the peaceful, clarifying experience one might expect. My mind got louder. The fear got bigger. And I had to advocate to find support that actually understood the long game of this medicine.

This is a solo episode. No guest, no framework, no script. Just me being honest about where I actually am, what’s been going on, and how ongoing + non-linear medicine work is.

Some of what I get into:

→ Why iboga made my mental chatter worse, not better
→ The Bwiti teaching that became my lifeline
→ The integration support gap that nobody warned me about
→ How I’ve kept building and showing up while genuinely struggling
→ What finally helped me turn a corner

If you’re in the long tail of integration, or you’re preparing to work with iboga and want to know what you might actually be signing up for, this one’s for you.

the ~ blog ~ is officially live 📝

I’ve been wanting to create a written home for everything I share on the podcast; a place where the ideas have room to breathe, where you can read slowly, come back, take notes.

Field Notes is that place.

Three posts are up now:

→ The Post-Psychedelic Identity Crisis Nobody Talks About
→ How to Prepare for Iboga: A 6-Step Guide
→ Stop Healing, Start Integrating

Each one pulls from a real episode and goes deeper into the frameworks I use with clients, the questions worth sitting with, the shifts that actually move things.

Find them all at modernpsychedelics.net (link in bio)

Which topic are you most drawn to? Drop it below 👇

This is about what happens when the ceremony leaves you more confused than before + nine grounded tools for finding your way through.

Your ceremony starts long before you meet the medicine. Here’s a pretty solid preparation framework I’ve use personally, and with every client I guide through Iboga.

What if the way you’re approaching your healing journey is actually the thing keeping you stuck? Here’s the orientation shift that changes everything — and what psychedelic integration really means.

I sat down with Rick Doblin — MAPS founder and the man who has spent 40 years fighting to bring psych*delic medicine into the mainstream — and he did not come here to play it safe.

We talked about why the medicine itself is being overvalued, how we can practically bring these modalities to communities (not just individuals), and the one MD MA application he thinks changes everything.

Swipe for 5 quotes I’m still thinking about. Full conversation (episode 138) linked in bio. 🎙️

Jon found me the way most people do: through something I shared online.

He was almost 50 and had never done a plant medicine in his life. But Iboga was calling him, and he had the wisdom to know he didn’t want to do it alone.

We worked together for 8 months through the preparation, the ceremony, and the integration. He did both my 6-month life coaching program and my Iboga Prep & Integration program.

He called our work together “one of the best investments I have ever made in my life.”

That’s the thing about committing to doing this work over a long arc. It’s not just about surviving the ceremony. It’s about who you become in the months leading up to it, and what you can actually do with what comes through on the other side.

I currently have 2 spots open in my Iboga Prep & Integration Program (a elf-paced course + 4 sessions together).

If you’re feeling the pull, or if you’ve already booked a retreat and don’t yet have support in place: apply via the link in my bio. Discovery calls are free.

13 months ago, before round two with 🫚 I really believed that Iboga was truth medicine in the sense that it deliveres the truth directly, clearly, cleanly.

Now I see that Iboga is truth medicine in the sense that it presents a unique path for each individual to learn for themselves HOW to know ones truth. Sometimes it teaches this by revealing how the mind gets in the way.

I’ve come to understand that “truth medicine” is more of an ongoing process, and less of an event that happens lying on the mat.

My mind has been eating itself alive this year trying to “understand” a specific vision and message from ceremony. Moving through post-integration, this has been one of the hardest years for me but I have been learning a lot about the nuances around the iboga integration process.

This week, I started the process of updating my Iboga prep & integration course to reflect what I’ve been learning about these nuances, including this one: it’s not always about the content, but the mind structure the content amplifies.

There is so much nuance around working with this medicine, more so than with any other in my opinion.

This is why I created Doing the Work w/ Iboga: A prep & integration program to support folks walking with this master plant for psycho-spiritual purposes.

Are you working with Iboga soon? Let me know in the comments below or in the DMs. I would love to support you.

Hi, I’m Lana. Allow me to re-introduce myself.

Last week, I made a post about navigating a post-psych•delic identity crisis — and it kind of blew up. As a result, there are lots of new faces here, so I wanted to say hi.

What this told me is that a lot of people are feeling groundless and confused after medicine experiences — experiences that are positioned to be clarifying.

And that there’s still a lack of education and support for people having a hard time after psych•delics.

I’ve been podcasting on psyched•L ics for 6 years now (you can find Modern Psych•delics wherever you listen), and honestly?

I’m tired of how we position them.

I don’t blame us — I once believed these psychoactive substances would solve all my problems too.

And while they have a lot to offer, the truth is:

They don’t remove you from life. They bring you more deeply into it — for better or worse.

There’s a lot we can improve in how we talk about psych•delics. But more on that later.

A little about me:

🌟 I’m a 4x-certified ICF professional coach
🌱 I work with humans on the psych•delic path supporting preparation, integration, and authentic alignment
🥘 I love cooking, fashion, reading fiction, and disappearing on the dancefloor if there’s wubby wubs
🇧🇦 I was born in former Yugoslavia (now Bosnia). I’m a war baby
🏙️ City girl!! I’ve built a beautiful community in Toronto and deeply advocate for face-to-face connection
🫚 Psych•delics have been a big part of my journey. My arc was: Mushrooms → Ayah•asca → Ib•ga → 5-MeO → back to Ib•ga
💺Right now, they’ve taken a back seat
🪷In 2024, I launched .co — the first kanna brand in Canada

If you’re here because you’re navigating change, confusion, or growth after psych•delics, you’re in the right place.

Welcome! Tell me something about yourself in the comments — I genuinely love connecting with you.
