It was such a great opportunity to engage with the public and teach drop spindle spinning yesterday at the village at Black Creek.

People stayed, asked thoughtful questions, and kept coming back to try. We even had people drive over an hour just to come spin with us. Community is built in those small moments - trying, learning, and supporting each other .

There were moments of frustration, but mostly excitement and joy as people tried spinning for the first time and learned something new.

All the fleece we used came from Border Leicester sheep at the farm, dyed with acid and food dyes. With all the beautiful yarn everyone created, I’ll be knitting it into a small sweater as part of my “10 Stories” exhibition, creating a connection between the sheep, the farmer, the maker, and you.

The drop-in drop spindle session at yesterday was so much fun! I even got the chance to ply and wind off yarn spun by our first-time spinners , and they turned out gorgeous.

Yep, I skipped 2 weeks…

This week’s panel is woven with 3d printing material.

I did a lot of printing last week, ran into plenty of issues, and spent way more time troubleshooting than i expected. it was stressful, especially with so much going on right now, but luckily everything worked out in the end.

Week 1, 2026

This week’s keyword: sheep.
I spent so much time on this project bag, and it’s finally done 🐑

A new year has quietly arrived, and time feels like it’s moving faster than I expected. Finishing this bag and spinning feel satisfying, but it also makes me aware of how much I still want to do for my MRP. That mix of pride and anxiety seems to come hand in hand with making lately.

One stitch at a time, I guess.

Week 52, 2025

The last week of the year!

This week holds two very different feelings: Christmas warmth and freezing rain.

The holiday was full and generous, time with family, familiar rhythms, a softness I didn’t realize how much I needed. And yet, I didn’t fully rest. The urgency of work sat quietly in the background, reminding me of deadlines waiting in Toronto. I felt a little guilty insisting on leaving early, not staying home longer, not allowing myself more pause.

On Boxing Day, I drove back through freezing rain.
My car was sealed under a thick layer of ice. The ground was so slippery I could barely walk to my car. The drive took twice as long, but I’ve never been that focused (and slow). Every turn, every brake, every stretch of road asked for full attention.

This woven panel holds that contrast: warmth and tension, care and pressure, stillness and alertness.
A reminder that sometimes moving forward means slowing down, and being fully present, even when the path is icy.

Week 51, 2025

This week’s most memorable moment happened in a coffee shop.

I met a new friend over social media, and somehow that simple conversation turned into a knitting meetup. Strangers became familiar faces, hands moved together, yarn passed across tables.

It still amazes me how hobbies quietly create community. No big plans, no pressure, just showing up with what you love, and finding others who do too.

This small woven panel holds that feeling: warmth, chance, and the gentle magic of meeting through making.
