Celebrated a friend’s birthday with a delicious Chinese banquet-like dinner. We probably had to order from the Father’s Day menu.
Select items included Peking duck, crab claw, fish (fried and steamed), lobster (garlic and magi sauce), chicken, and then I ate and didn’t take anymore pictures until dessert.
There were 2 cakes from - a hazelnut one and the mango one.
Thankful to be included in the dinner celebrations and eating yummy Chinese food. -A

Did you know you can freeze Sprite into ice cubes? The girls made this drink that included Sprite cubes, lemonade cubes with strawberries and then pouring sprite on top. I can’t tell you if the Sprite cubes were fizzy, but if you ever have a bottle of opened flat pop and don’t want to pour it out, freeze it! -A

The ride to conquer cancer was last weekend and like every year, I didn’t ride and just enjoyed the dinner that M’s corporate team provides 😁
I took pictures of the desserts before people started taking them. This company was celebrating their 10th year riding in this charity as seen with these cupcakes.
Fruit tray. I forgot about fruit until later and there were slim pickings left.
Cheese board. Didn’t touch.
My plate of the mains. I ate like I road 100km. I’m a fraud but the food was all so good! -A

I haven’t been to East Side Mario’s in forever, but I’m a little impressed. I think mostly with their ayce soup and salad and the flexibility to change it up. I happen to go during an ayce pasta night and I also got to change the pasta for my refill.
The taste is decent. I had this memory that their pasta is gross. It’s not the best, but it’s comparable to Boston Pizza. You just need to find the one dish that’s good and only get that one. -A

I seem to always start these meals with 2 beers. I like getting a beer when it’s on tap versus a glass of wine.
We were at Scaddabush and tried their deep fried carbonara. I should have taken a picture of the inside. It had spaghetti in it.
I got a pizza that had a lot of Gorgonzola so it was too cheesy for my liking. M got the chicken with gnocchi and arugula. Their gnocchi is very good. We also added a side of broccolini.
With our coffees, we also got the hazelnut cake with pistachio ice cream. I enjoyed the ice cream a lot. The cake wasn’t good. No taste and too dry. The item had a lot of promise but didn’t delivery satisfaction. -A

Free(-ish) food birthday edition.
🥳 I started the week off with Tim Horton’s breakfast sandwich. They let you redeem your birthday treat a few days earlier than your actual birthdate.
🥳 Marble Slab has also done a better job and letting you have 3 days to redeem your birthday cone. This is taro ice cream with almond slices and nestle crunch and a brownie piece on top.
🥳 Dairy Queen now offers a free shake and no longer has BOGO blizzards. This is strawberry milkshake.
🥳 Oishii Tea gives you 50% off any drink. This is my 1 bubble tea/year purchase. (Except this year in Taiwan.)
🥳 Cobs bread gives you 2 weeks to redeem your free cinnamon bun, but we ate it before I took a picture. Instead, here are the other pastries I got since we were already there 😁

Our last real meal from Quebec City was at . We got the same Le Clasaique burger. I wanted to swap my fries for soup, but the waiter misheard and added a soup. No biggie, the fries were delicious. It also came with a dipping sauce that’s made in-house. It was a great meal to end our short getaway. -A

We were looking forward to this steak dinner all weekend. We went to .steakhouse. It was hot so we got beers. No local beers were on tap that I liked so I settled for Blue Moon and M had Coors light. We started with bread. M had the New York Striploin and I had the prime rib. The steaks were flavourful and I liked the sides that came with the steaks.
We were really full after with no room for dessert and took another hour long walk around the city to digest. -A

Snacking in Old Quebec. Everything is super touristy, so we decided instead of real meals, we’ll eat small as we go. We ended up at which I didn’t realize was a chain and we’ve been to another location last year. We got the tuna tataki and ice cream in a crepe.
M was getting hangry so she got this (overpriced) slice of pizza from .pizza.epicerie. -A

Mini-France continued. We checked out 2 more bakeries and was not disappointed with the quality and variety of pastries. Coffee and espresso was delicious as well.
🥐 1-2 - I got a butter croissant. M got a ham and cheese one, which you can’t really tell from the top.
🥐 3-5 - I got an almond and chocolate croissant. M had a sugar bun. There were a lot of pastry options here and I noticed that the raspberry croissant sold out pretty quickly. -A
