It now takes a shockingly short voice recording for an AI to convincingly mimic your voice. Do you know if the person on the other end is recording your call? If they are, that recording can be used to easily create a voice model based on you.

What would you do if you heard your voice speaking back to you on the phone?

AI has the incredible ability to create voice models that mimic real-life figures. This has already been an issue for public figures who have hours of speaking online. However, the training data needed to create these convincing models continues to be less and less. Be careful what you put online, you never know who will use it!

One strategy online figures have begun to use to mitigate this risk is having music on in the background while they are talking, which makes it harder for Artificial Intelligence to compile their voice features. What other strategies can be used to prevent this kind of identity theft?

What new jobs will be created to ensure the efficacy of AI?

Artificial Intelligence is often touted as being able to run mostly autonomously, however this really isn't the case, at least for now. Current AI models require an immense amount of oversight to ensure that not only the outputs it generates are correct but that the data being used for training is appropriate and unbiased.

Context is key. Artificial Intelligence lacks the ability to understand context in the way that humans can. While already surpassing humans in some areas of data management and other more redundant tasks, human overview is still very much necessary in Cybersecurity for the foreseeable future. Ever wonder why AI seems to be able to adapt so quickly?

One tool that Artificial Intelligence utilizes is called a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN). GAN is a way AI can "learn" by testing its generative output against a discriminator that ensures the exported data fits within certain criteria. Over time, the generative part of the AI will become more and more accurate as it learns what is an acceptable output versus an unacceptable output. This technology has the potential to find and fix vulnerabilities within your Online Infrastructure... or, if used by the wrong person, exploit them.
