Anok Yai's story reads like a testament to divine providence. Born to South Sudanese parents who escaped genocide, she arrived in America with nothing but her family's faith and resilience. She was studying biochemistry at Howard University, dreaming of medical school, when a stranger's photograph at homecoming went viral in 2017.

Four months later, she walked the Prada runway in Milan—the first Sudanese model and only the second Black woman after Naomi Campbell to open for the house. Since then, she's graced runways for Versace, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel, covered Vogue countless times, and was named Model of the Year in 2023. The fashion world now calls her one of the "New Supers" of her generation.

What strikes us most is how her rise mirrors the quiet work of Providence. A campus moment became a global platform. A girl whose parents survived unimaginable loss now redefines beauty for the world. Proverbs 22:29 says, "Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings." Anok's ascent isn't just about modeling—it's about a young woman stepping fully into her calling and, in doing so, shifting what the world sees as beautiful. Sometimes God doesn't announce His plans; He simply opens a door and watches us walk through it.
