El Hashem

til recently that el Hashem took the leap to pursue one of his life passions, singing. The journey started in early 2021 with a number of cover songs both in English and Arabic languages, that were received very warmly. A music video of one of the song covers played a number of video and film festivals in Europe and NYC and won a number of awards; featuring the unique love story of two Arabic guys in love on a music video. Late in 2021 el Hashem released his first original work, a love song and celebration of mothers and motherhood around the globe (that he wrote when he was missing him mom and her hugs during covid lockdowns). He invited community artist Count Klassy to collaborate, while the song got produced by billboard charting NYC producer Sisco Kennedy, and released by Supa Qween Records. Dance mixes followed by iconic DJs and producers Cozmic Cat and Larry Peace, and a music video directed by Toronto local community award winning filmmaker Davina Hader. In 2022 el Hashem will be releasing a number of very exciting original work, under the umbrella title “from the book of my life”, all personal stories from life experiences. The first release, a heartbreak and empowerment ballad titled “Not the Kinda Heart That Falls Apart” will be followed by a dance EP containing different genres (country, house, pop). A full album, of original songs (and one awesome cover song) will be released in 2023. el Hashem invites listeners to “celebrate the music together…make memories together.” Having grown up feeling “different” from those around him, el Hashem has always wanted to create a world full of things that can bring joy and enjoyment to people.
