❤️ Maxillaria variabilis ‘Red’ ❤️
🧬 Maxillaria variabilis — species
📍 Mexico through Central America
A beautiful colour form of this wonderfully variable species, ‘Red’ is prized for its rich red flowers and compact, spreading growth. The small flowers emerge individually from the base of the pseudobulbs and can appear in blooming flushes, with mature plants capable of producing flowers over an extended period. 🌿
The flowers are beautifully fragrant, with a rich, sweet, heavily perfumed scent that can be surprisingly strong for such small blooms. Fragrance intensity can vary between individual plants, but it is one of the most rewarding features of this species. 🌸
Maxillaria variabilis naturally occurs in humid forests from Mexico through Central America, where it can grow as an epiphyte, lithophyte, or terrestrial orchid. The species is known for its remarkable range of flower colours, from yellow and orange through to deep red and nearly black, making the ‘Red’ form especially striking for collectors.
It’s also an exceptionally easy-growing orchid, tolerating a fairly wide range of temperatures and adapting well to home growing conditions. It is particularly forgiving when kept evenly moist and is even considered a good windowsill orchid.
☀️ Light: Bright indirect to medium light; some morning sun is ideal
💧 Water: Keep moist; allow the surface to dry slightly, avoid prolonged dryness. Can use self watering pots.
🌡️ Temperature: Intermediate to warm, but adaptable to a fairly wide range
☁️ Humidity: 35%+ with good watering habit & water retentive substrate
🪴 Media: Standard RoeOrchid Potting Mix; keep slightly more moisture-retentive
A fragrant, easy-growing miniature with deep red flowers — small in size, but definitely not small on personality. ❤️

❤️ Encyclia alata ❤️
Back in stock! Last restock was 2021!!
🧬 Laelia - Cattleya alliance
📍 Central America (often seen from Mexico through Panama)
This is an incredible Encyclia species that looks a bit weird and hard to capture in photos, then you see it in person and it makes total sense. Long, narrow segments with that brown wash, and a bright yellow lip with striping that reads almost like a little mask.
Blooms come spaced out along an arching spike, and the whole plant has that classic Encyclia "airy" look. If you like to grow the Brassavola/Cattleya side of the world but want something lighter and more species-y, this one scratches the itch.
☀️ Light: Bright indirect to bright light (more like Cattleya than Phal)
💧 Water: Wet to dry cycles; don’t keep it constantly damp
🌡️ Temperature: Intermediate to Warm
☁️ Humidity: 40%+ with airflow
🪴 Media: Standard RoeOrchid Potting Mix; keep it on the airy side
A nice one for people who like species structure and weird little details.

🌸 Phal. Mini Mark 🌸
🧬 Phalaenopsis Micro Nova × Phalaenopsis philippinensis
📍 P. maculata & P. lobbii × P. philippinensis — Southeast Asian ancestry
Back in stock! Very large specimen plants - Limited Quantity
One of the most charming miniature Phalaenopsis hybrids, Mini Mark is loved for its small white flowers, colourful orange-yellow lip, and contrasting pink-purple spotting. 🌿
Its P. philippinensis influence gives it a beautiful multifloral character, while P. maculata and P. lobbii bring the smaller flower size and distinctive novelty colouring. Some clones are also lightly fragrant. 💛
This is notorious for a finicky grower. We recommend for someone with slight experience with novelty speciality type phalaenopsis. Grow warm and lean dry.
☀️ Light: Bright indirect to medium light; gentle morning sun is ideal
💧 Water: Water thoroughly when the mix is nearly dry; avoid keeping roots constantly wet. Faster wet dry cycles than usual. Mounting is a good option
🌡️ Temperature: Warm — 20–28°C; avoid prolonged temperatures below 20°C
☁️ Humidity: 40%+ with good airflow
🪴 Media: Standard RoeOrchid Potting Mix or sphagnum moss
A tiny classic that packs a lot of personality into every little bloom. 🌸

🌸 Phal. Yaphon Pink Lady 🌸
ROESTOCKED!!!
🧬 Phalaenopsis Jiaho’s Pink Girl × Phalaenopsis mannii
This is a charming novelty Phalaenopsis with delicate pink flowers, a sweet fragrance, and the potential to keep blooming sequentially along the spike. 🌿 They are seed cross, so each one is unique to yours only!
The P. mannii influence brings its smaller, warm-growing character and distinctive longer slender elegant flower form, while the Jiaho’s Pink Girl side contributes additional lovely colour variety. The resulting cross is a compact, multifloral and fragrant Phalaenopsis that can keep the show going long after the first flowers open. 💕
☀️ Light: Bright indirect to medium light; gentle morning sun is ideal
💧 Water: Water thoroughly when the mix is nearly dry; avoid letting the roots remain constantly wet
🌡️ Temperature: Warm — 20–30°C; avoid prolonged temperatures below 18°C
☁️ Humidity: 40%+ with good airflow
🪴 Media: Standard RoeOrchid Potting Mix or sphagnum moss

💜 Phal. tetraspis ‘Super Purple’ 💜
🧬 Phalaenopsis tetraspis — species
📍 Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Northwestern Sumatra
One of the most exciting colour forms of tetraspis! ‘Super Purple’ takes the naturally variable flowers of P. tetraspis and pushes the purple-magenta markings to another level. The waxy flowers are also beautifully fragrant, making this species a favourite among novelty Phalaenopsis collectors. 🌿
☀️ Light: Bright indirect to medium light; gentle morning sun is ideal
💧 Water: Keep evenly growing — water thoroughly when the mix is nearly dry, but don’t allow it to stay bone dry
🌡️ Temperature: Warm — 20–30°C; avoid prolonged temperatures below 18°C, as colder conditions can increase the risk of fungal and other problems
☁️ Humidity: 50%+ preferred, with good airflow
🪴 Media: Standard RoeOrchid Potting Mix or sphagnum moss
A true collector’s Phalaenopsis — fragrant, colourful, and with that unmistakable Polychilos character. 💜

🌸 Bc. Katherine H. Chatham 🌸
🧬 Brassocattleya hybrid
One from our personal Brassocattleya collection — and definitely one of our favourites. 💚
We love this one for its elegant flowers and colour combination. That classic Brassocattleya look: graceful, star-shaped elegant blooms. This is the first one of the Brassocatts that captured us and why we love collecting this group in the first place. 🌿
☀️ Light: Bright direct to medium light
💧 Water: Allow the potting mix to dry slightly between thorough waterings
🌡️ Temperature: Intermediate to warm
☁️ Humidity: 40%+ with good airflow

🌸 Phal. Lioulin L Gift 🌸
🧬 Phalaenopsis Theresa Griffits × Phalaenopsis Yaphon Yellow Story
📍 Taiwan Hybrid
A beautiful novelty Phalaenopsis bringing together warm Polychilos genetics with classic Phalaenopsis traits. Its background is strongly influenced by P. amboinensis, P. violacea, and P. pulchra, contributing to its rich colour, rounded flower form, and potential fragrance. 🌿
This is also a sequential bloomer, meaning a mature spike can continue producing flowers one after another rather than finishing all at once.
☀️ Light: Bright indirect light; a few hours of gentle morning sun is ideal
💧 Water: Water thoroughly when the mix is approaching dryness; don't let it remain bone dry for extended periods
🌡️ Temperature: Warm — 20–30°C; warmer conditions encourage vigorous growth
☁️ Humidity: 40%+ with good airflow
🪴 Media: Standard RoeOrchid Potting Mix or sphagnum moss
A beautiful collector-friendly Phalaenopsis with sequential blooming and plenty of Polychilos character. 💚
