Mmm “The older woman who was once overlooked has become the premium package” — Actress Damilola Adegbite

Actress Damilola Adegbite has spoken about changing attitudes towards older women and dating.

She said society once made women feel that they should quietly leave the dating scene after reaching a certain age.

According to her, that perception is changing, with older women now attracting more attention and being viewed differently in the dating space.

“There was a time when society made older women feel like once you've crossed a certain age, you should basically leave the dating market quietly, but now the tables are turning,” she said.

“The older woman who was once overlooked has become the premium package,” she added.

The first Big Brother Nigeria made its debut in 2006, bringing together a group of housemates in Lagos for what would become the beginning of the Nigerian edition of the reality television franchise.
Throughout the season, the house welcomed visitors from different parts of Nigerian entertainment, sports and public life. 2Face Idibia, Jay-Jay Okocha, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Segun Arinze, Lagbaja, Cobhams Asuquo and Mary Onyali were among the personalities who spent time with the housemates.
The visits went beyond entertainment. Guests interacted with the housemates through conversations, music and activities, while the house also received former Big Brother Africa personalities, government representatives, children from an orphanage and organisations involved in HIV/AIDS awareness and advocacy.
Hosted by Olisa Adibua and Michelle Dede, the 2006 season introduced viewers to housemates including Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Gideon Okeke and Francisca Owumi, among others, with Katung Aduwak eventually emerging as the winner.
The visits brought people from different areas of Nigerian life into the house, creating some of the memorable moments from that first season.
