Made a wish at the Cape of Good Hope—now we wait and see if the ocean was listening. 🌊🙏🏻

Vernadsky Research Station, holding its ground on the Antarctic Peninsula.
15,000 km from Toronto — a reminder of how big the planet really is.

We came to Antarctica for the ice, the silence, and the edge of the map.
We left married. 🤍❄️

Gentoo penguin feet are kept cold on purpose.
By limiting blood flow and using counter-current heat exchange, they lose less heat to the ice — saving warmth for the rest of the body. ❄️🐧

Between ops, a rare still moment. 💙🤍
Busy, tired, exactly where we want to be.

The road north ended the way a lot of them do — a few quiet farms, the smell of harvest, and an old RCAF Clunk keeping watch over Haliburton.

A strange kind of symmetry between flight and stillness.

The US terminal at Pearson is nearly empty — just business people hunched over laptops, clusters of open seats, that faint smell of coffee and cleaning solution. Over the speakers, they’re blasting The Tragically Hip’s Phantom Power, track after track. It’s oddly perfect: this wide, echoing space, half-asleep travelers waiting to leave Canada, and Gord Downie’s voice filling it like a quiet reminder of where they’re from.
