How We Face Rising Authoritarianism: Lessons from the U.K. 09/22/2026

How We Face Rising Authoritarianism: Lessons from the U.K.
Date: Wednesday, October 7 1-2 PM ET
Cost: Free (Zoom Webinar)

Across the U.K. and around the world, organizations are facing increasingly hostile political forces. What can you, your organization, and your allies do now to protect your mission, strengthen your networks, and prepare for what may come?

Join Natasha Adams, a leading U.K. movement researcher and strategist, for a timely conversation about how the U.K. reached this point—and what others can learn from its experience.

Natasha will explore why progressive nonprofits and funders were initially caught off guard by the rapid rise of far-right and authoritarian movements. More importantly, she’ll share what is being done now to respond.

She will highlight promising initiatives including The Together Alliance and A Million Acts of Hope. Plus show you her work building the relationships, organizing capacity, and large-scale networks needed to respond quickly and effectively.

Natasha will be joined by Kate Turner of the Building Power Network, who will bring a Canadian perspective to the discussion and explore what these lessons could mean for you and your organization.

Top Ten Compliance Issues for Canadian Registered Charities with Mark Blumberg
Date: September 29, 1-2 PM ET
Cost: $25 (Zoom Webinar)

A great deal has been written about legal compliance surrounding charities in Canada. Much of that material, however, is highly specialized, hard to understand and sometimes esoteric. As a result, it can be extremely difficult for charities, employees and volunteers to focus on the issues that are most important for charities.

This webinar provides plain language information and resources about the CRA compliance obligations of Canadian charities for 2025.

Tools of the Conflict-Capable ENGO Leader (Fall 2026) 09/10/2026

Tools of the Conflict-Capable ENGO Leader with Matt McKenna
Dates: Thursdays, October 1, 8, 15, 1-2:30 PM ET
Cost: $75pp for the series or $125 for two from the same organization

Every team has moments like these: the disagreement that’s about to go sideways, the silence after a hard piece of feedback, the conversation about someone instead of with them. How a leader handles these moments will decide what happens next, whether it spirals into resentment and shutdown, or becomes a positive turning point.

Most leaders are never taught what to do in these moments. They're left to rely on instinct, which often means avoiding the friction or reacting in ways that make it worse.

This series changes that. Led by Matt McKenna, a qualified mediator who works with leaders on exactly these moments. You'll learn practical, repeatable tools to lead with confidence and navigate these high-stakes moments.

Purposeful Work with AI: Emerging Technologies for Environmental NGOs 09/08/2026

Purposeful Work with AI: Emerging Technologies for Environmental NGOs
Dates: Oct 15, 29, Nov 12, 26, Dec 10 & 17
Cost: $299

Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping how we work, communicate, and solve problems, but for mission-driven organizations, the path to responsible adoption is often unclear. Developed by Sustainability Network and Aicology as part of the Vision2030 Program, this specialized program helps Canadian environmental NGOs build the knowledge, judgement, and practical skills needed to navigate that change.

Participants will explore what AI can and cannot do, examine the risks and organizational conditions required for responsible adoption, identify practical opportunities within their own work, and gain hands-on experience with emerging tools.

Across the program, each participant will also develop a culminating AI project based on a real workflow or organizational challenge. Short, structured exercises between sessions will build toward that project step by step, allowing participants to leave with something practical they can continue using or developing inside their organization.

Leadership for Impact: A Vision2030 Leadership Fundamentals Program 09/04/2026

Leadership for Impact: A Vision2030 Leadership Fundamentals Program
Dates: 10 monthly live sessions + 20 bi-weekly modules, September 2026 - July 2027
Cost: $250 for the series (Zoom Meetings)

Most managers in the environmental sector were promoted because they were excellent at the work, not because anyone trained them to manage. The nonprofit sector invests roughly half of what the for-profit sector invests in developing its leaders, and most of that investment goes to the largest institutions: universities, hospitals and large national charities. Managers in small and mid-sized ENGOs, where much of the sector's work actually happens, are frequently handed a team and left to figure it out.

Leadership for Impact is a 10-month, cohort-based program built to close that gap. Twenty-five new managers from environmental organizations across Canada will spend the year building the skills the job actually requires: running one on-ones that are worth the time, setting goals with staff rather than for them, giving feedback that develops people, handling the conversation you have been putting off for months, building a team that functions, and leading through change from the middle of an organization.

The first half covers management fundamentals; the second half turns to leadership. It is designed to fit around a working life, at about three hours a month.

Date: Tuesdays, Sept 22, Oct 6, 20, & Nov 3,1 PM ET
Cost: $100 for the series

Environmental organizations are navigating increasing complexity from climate change and biodiversity loss to changing communities, evolving workforces, Truth and Reconciliation, and growing expectations for collaboration and accountability. Building organizations that can thrive in this environment requires more than good intentions. It requires practical tools, strong leadership, inclusive governance, and the ability to engage meaningfully with the diverse communities we serve.

This fall, Vision2030 invites members to join two new Learning Series designed to help move them from JEDI awareness to action.

Developed collaboratively by Sustainability Network, Saltwater Consulting, and Networked Intelligence for Development, this learning series is intended for Board members, Executive directors, managers, HR professionals and staff who want to strengthen organizational culture, inclusive leadership, and equitable impacts over the long term. Each learning series combines expert instruction with practical application, enabling participants to immediately apply what they learn within their own organizations.

Rewiring Leadership: Unlocking the Potential of Neurodiversity in the Nonprofit Sector 08/20/2026

Rewiring Leadership: Unlocking the Potential of Neurodiversity in the Nonprofit Sector
Date: Sept 8, 1-2 PM ET
Cost: Free (Zoom Webinar)

One in six people are neurodivergent. And, your nonprofit was almost certainly not built for that reality.

The research is clear about the problem. It’s not the neurodivergent person. It is the mismatch between how that person works and a system designed around neurotypical norms.

Neurodivergent leaders carry an invisible workload of masking, sensory overload, and executive function strain. Neurodivergent staff face vague instructions, performance reviews that measure style rather than results, and the real risks that comes with disclosure.

This session looks at both perspectives: leading as a neurodivergent person, and leading neurodivergent staff. You will leave with practical strategies you can use immediately, most of which will also improve conditions for your neurotypical staff.

This webinar is for leaders, managers, and staff in the nonprofit sector, whether or not they identify as neurodivergent. Participants will receive access to the recording and a resource booklet.
