Continuous insulation outboard of the sheathing, every seam taped, then diagonal strapping over top.

The strapping does two jobs: it gives the vertical cladding something to bite into, and it holds a drainage gap so the cavity dries instead of holding water. By the time the metal goes on, that decision is already buried.

Going into business together was the risk. The friendship mattered more than the company did. What held both was the same habit: sitting down with a client and saying what happened, then how it gets fixed before they ask.

Excavated in the fall. Framed in the snow. Still going. A cottage build only survives a winter like that if the foundation is in before freeze. That sequencing gets set in pre-construction, months before a single stud is cut.
