Sept 1st will be here before you know it! Join us at the TRANZAC to kick off our fall series with guest openers, The Littell Trio, featuring Samuel Little Patrick O'Reilly and Robert Diack Followed by Peripheral Vision’s set. Don Scott Michael Herring Trevor Hogg Nick Fraser

The Littell Trio is an improvising trio comprised of old friends Robert Diack, Patrick O’Reilly, and Sam Little. Nominally led by Sam, the group first formed as an ad hoc ensemble in 2021 and has slowly grown into something much more. In the last several years, the trio had the good fortune of participating in the Banff Jazz and Sonic Arts program which further fomented the group’s cohesion as a working band. They look forward to releasing their first album as a group in the coming year.

Thanks Angelica Zavala Quartet for the great opening set last night!

07/02/2026

This month, (July 7, Tranzac, 9:30pm) with Don and Nick away, Peripheral Vision will play as “Hogg/Harley/Herring” - Trevor Hogg (saxophone) and Michael Herring (double bass) from Peripheral Vision, with guest guitarist Harley Card . We’ll also invite drummer Angelica Zavala to play with us.

Opening - Angelica Zavala Quartet

Angelica Zavala is a recording and touring drummer of Honduran descent, based in Toronto. Her debut EP, All I Know Is Now, is a reflection on identity, transition, and emotional presence. Rooted in deep groove, this project offers a rich sound shaped by a curiosity for texture, rhythm, musical storytelling, and blends both acoustic and electric elements for what she likes to call alternative jazz. With a focus on honest connection and creative risk-taking, the band creates a space where vulnerability and groove meet. She will be joined by Steve Carson on tenor saxophone, Jesse White on guitar, and alex.mcph on bass where they will explore original compositions and standards.

Excited to have EADG opening for us at the this Tuesday June 2nd! EADG at 9:30, we play at 10:30.

EADG
Drawing on the roots of original folk repertoire, EADG explores the space between tune and abstraction. We treat straight‑ahead folk melodies as catalysts for free improvisation — sometimes tender, sometimes unruly, always curious and creative — moving fluidly through the shared languages of folk music and jazz.
Esra Gurcay – Vocals & Spoken Word
Aidan Miller – Drums & Trinkets
Dylan Pilchar – Trumpet & Pedals
Georgia Korba – Double Bass & Compositions
