“La Plena Tóxica”- Golden Poison Frog Brooch

Ella, parcerita paisa; y yo, costeño coleto
En una baldosa la aprieto
Pa hablarte claro, cero visaje
Se sabe que tú eres puro veneno
Ay, tienes la magia, tú sí tiene’ una vainita
Que a mí me encanta, me enloquece!!…

“The Full Toxic”- Golden Poison Frog Brooch

She, a paisa friend; and I, costeño coleto
I squeeze it on a tile
To speak to you clearly, no sneer
It’s knows that you are pure poison
Ay, you have the magic,
You do have a thing that I love, it drives me crazy!…

A very special cross was designed to care a little girl.

Two butterfly-dragonfly wings on it reminds the spirit of the Heavenly Father.

It was a great honor to participate in a special piece honoring the retirement of Melanie Egan. She is a respected figure in the field of contemporary craft and design, with over 35 years of experience dedicated to advancing the craft sector in Canada and internationally. As Director of Craft and Design at Harbourfront Centre, she shaped the craft and design landscape.
She led Canada’s foremost artist residency program, dedicated to ceramics, glass, textiles, jewelry, and design. She curated and presented numerous exhibitions, organized symposia and events, gave lectures, mentored, and served as an advocate for the craft community. Melanie’s influence extended far beyond the institution, as she also contributed to various craft organizations and academic committees. Melanie has been a pivotal voice in the broader craft community: she served on Craft Ontario’s Editorial Advisory and Nominating Committees, the Program Committee of the Textile Museum of Canada, and the Professional Advisory Committees for the Craft and Design Program at Sheridan College and the Jewellery Program at George Brown College.
Her legacy includes not only the numerous projects and exhibitions she directed, but also the mentorship and advocacy she provided throughout her career.

With a Butterfly, and a Flower built by several of them on Sterling silver and acrylic. I wish to the great legend a transformative retirement that allows Melanie to be filled with tranquility and greater inspiration to transform a trajectory of great knowledge into new life projects that fill her heart with joy!.

My best wishes today and always at this stage!!

It is with great sadness I share this news from Toronto. George Brown College (GBC) is the largest jewellery and gemmology school in North America, with 250 full-time students. The closure of these programs will have enormous repercussions on the future learning of our craft and the jewellery industry in Canada. Graduating from the Jewellery Arts program was one of the best experiences of my life: I learned and honed my skills to build dreams, grew professionally by understanding how to properly plan my processes, connected with myself, and connected with an incredible community that is now an important part of my life.
I respectfully urge all my Canadian, American, European, and Latin American colleagues to consider sending a letter of support. Your voice can be of great help!
See the link in the bio for all the information you need. Thank you,

What a surprise! After a deep clean of my library books with the excuse of finding inspiration for my new projects and reconnecting with that passion between ID and Jewellery, I came across this wonderful article from Craft Ontario at their 2017 Canadian Craft Biennial. It’s amazing how time flies. But it’s wonderful how these little details push you back to dreaming.
Thank you again for recognizing my work!
