I am a designer specializing in repurposing denim jeans into handmade one of a kind Totes, bags, purses, pouches and embellished jean jackets.
We are sister's...Joanne & Jerrie, based in Arkona & Forest Ontario. We reclaim, repurpose and recycle all kinds of materials to create our one-of-a-kind bags and accessories. Our techniques include beadwork, embroidery, knitting & crochet, jean recycling, felting (recycled wool items), needle felting & appliqué and many more. This isn't all of it there is more! These squares were cut and sewn by someone...I found a bag of these in the thrift store. The person had top stitched all the squares with the gold colour thread that is on most jeans. I took all that stitching out...I think it looks better to me...now...what to do with them! 😊

This jacket was born a boy...but I think it's a girl now! I love the kitties! I love the colours!

The tag was cut off. 🤷
This is an embroidered sheer fabric...I used heat and bond then fussy cut the flowers out...ironed them on the jacket... then free motion stitched them...then I went around the edges with stop fray...lots of work but it turned out great! I can add some to the front if the customer chooses.

The weather hasn't been great for taking pics lately so I have 4 projects today! This is a black and white patchwork denim handbag...so fun!

This is a mosaic hummingbird... made by me. I added the flower trim as well. This was fun and I'm excited to make more animal mosaics! 😊
