Amanda PL is a Canadian Contemporary Artist My creative journey started by learning and meeting with Canadian indigenous artists.
Some of the main influences in my paintings express certain elements and spiritual symbols which often express my impressions of colours and themes painted by renown artists, such as Norval Morrisseau, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, David Hockney, Emily Carr, Lawren Harris, Tom Thomson, Salvador Dali, Franscisco Goya, and Amedeo Modigliani. The inspiration I drew from these renown art figures led me to travel across Canada, allowing me to explore and discover new artistic visions and landscapes. After traveling and living on the Canadian West Coast, I experimented with different mediums and styles, which had a transformative development in the way I paint. The sky and the sea, the mountains and the rivers, the stars and the cities; all became my inspirations that reflect in my paintings. My art has since been featured in galleries across North America. My passion for art and nature engenders my advocacy for a plastic-free world, a world free of carbon-intensive human activities polluting and degrading the natural ecosystems, a world of clean oceans and wild fish, a world where art changes hearts.

Wild Corner 🌿
48 × 36” | Acrylic on gallery canvas
Inspired by quiet moments at the lake, where the water drifts gently, the lilies bloom, and the pines stand.
This piece is a little love letter to the places that make me feel most at home.
I’m realizing these glowing red skies are becoming their own collection. Each new painting feels connected to the last—as though they’re all telling different stories from the same wild places.
I can’t wait to see where this collection takes me. ❤️

Introducing Deeply Rooted
60 × 42” acrylic on canvas
This piece stayed in my studio for months while I made subtle changes, trusting the process until it finally felt complete.
Inspired by the Canadian landscape, with a few nods to Matisse and Tom Thomson along the way.

A little studio moment with a painting that’s slowly finding its way. Still lots to do, but the lily pads have arrived.

• Winding Through Cape Breton
It’s been a joy sharing these pieces over the past week and I’m grateful for all the kind comments and encouragement.
Looking forward to seeing them included alongside the work of so many talented artists. The online exhibition opens online June 11.

Winding Through Cape Breton
Some paintings come together easily, while others ask you to spend a little more time finding your way through them.
This piece was one of those paintings.
Inspired by the winding roads, rolling hills, and layered landscapes of Cape Breton, I wanted to capture not just the view, but the feeling of moving through it.
This 12” × 12” acrylic painting is one of three pieces I’ll be exhibiting at the Square Foot Show opening June 11.

Harbour in Colour
There’s something special about colourful harbour towns.
The bright buildings reflected in the water, boats gently at rest, and the feeling that life moves at its own pace along the coast.
This 12” × 12” acrylic painting is one of three pieces I’ll be exhibiting at the Square Foot Show opening June 11.

East Coast Light
One of three new 12” × 12” paintings heading to the Square Foot Show this month.
I’ve always loved how a lighthouse can anchor a landscape without demanding all the attention. For me, this piece became more about the colours, the coastline, and the feeling of light stretching across the horizon.
Opening June 11.
