🥊🎗️Fight To End Cancer Seeks Toronto’s Next Team of Charity Boxers!

Official tryouts and information session takes place Saturday Sept 26 - 12:30PM - 265 Norseman Street.

No previous boxing experience is necessary for those hoping to join the charity gala team. In fact, applicants for the gala team must not have previously competed in boxing or another martial art.

Those selected will spend the months ahead learning to box while taking on an equally important challenge outside the ring: raising funds and awareness for cancer research.

This past week they had the official launch at the GTx Celebration (Guided Therapeutics Program) at the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. The GTx program helps surgeons target and kill cancerous cells, while salvaging the normal surrounding cells which improves patient survival and enhances quality of life.

Through to December 5, 2026, visit any Tip Top, George Richards Big & Tall, or Mr. Big & Tall Menswear location across Canada to support the 2026 Wear Your Support campaign benefiting the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

Becoming a fighter in the Fight to End Cancer is a powerful commitment. It's months of hard work, dedication, and fundraising to support cancer research - but you won’t be doing it alone! The KBC & FTEC teams will guide and fully prepare you for the journey ahead.

Sept 26, we’ll officially kick things off with both our fight team tryouts and our volunteer kick-off meeting. Whether you’re hoping to step into the ring or support the event behind the scenes, there’s a place for you in the Fight to End Cancer community. 🎗️🥊

The 4th annual Golf to End Cancer (GTEC) is only days aways and even with a sold-out event, the Cairns family along with their incredible network are still working to raise much needed funds to benefit The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation

What began as a family initiative quickly grew into a meaningful annual tradition, raising more than $2,600 in its first year and an incredible $10,000 in its second. This year they hope to surpass and make it their most successful event to date.

When you read Liz's survivor story, you'll get a sense of the warrior she is and for her, defeat is definitely not an option when it comes to knocking out cancer!

❓FAQ: Do I need have to have a fighting/boxing background to be considered for the 2027 FTEC Fight Team? NO!

Rob Gorican, Operations Manager at Kingsway Boxing Club came from a theater background and in 2013 and he performed his own walkout song into the ring as he stepped in to KO Cancer!

Our 150+ alumni have come from many different and many interesting walks of life and they've made lifetime friendships, connections and many will attend the tryouts next week!

‼️ FTEC FAMILY, FRIENDS & ALUMNI

▪️ Planning for FTEC 2027 has begun and we kick it off with our next Fight to End Cancer tryout which takes place on Saturday, September 26 at 12:30 PM. We’re now looking for the next group of individuals ready to step up, take on the challenge, and fight for something bigger than themselves.

▪️ In the 1.5-hour session you’ll get a good sweat on but more importantly, you’ll hear from the executive directors, coaches, ambassadors and volunteers who work hard behind the scenes to help you on your journey into the ring. You’ll also meet our alumni who were once in your shoes. They will help through the session and will also be available to answer any additional questions you may have.

Anyone interested in trying out must complete the FTEC Fighter Application in advance and please feel free to share this with anyone you think may have what it takes to join the next Fight to End Cancer team. 🥊
