September is Craniofacial Acceptance Month. This month we're highlighting AboutFace, a Toronto-based charity that supports children, youth and adults with facial differences across Canada.

AboutFace runs Camp Trailblazers, a summer camp for kids and youth with facial differences, along with a school program, a Speaker Series and post-secondary scholarships.

A few years ago, Ramp worked with AboutFace on My Difference Should Make No Difference, a campaign that helped employers understand facial difference in the workplace. You can read about it here: https://ramp.agency/work/aboutface/

Karly, our Managing Director, has been reflecting on something she keeps running into from both sides of the table: the RFP process is broken, and most people in the industry know it.

After talking with her network, agency folks and procurement teams alike, she pulled together 5 things that attract the right agency partner to your RFP. From budget transparency to realistic timelines to closing the loop with the agencies who didn't win.

🧠 Is your mental health messaging actually being seen?

We surveyed 8,516 Canadians to find out — and the results might surprise you.

📊 Here's what we learned:

1. Over 1 in 4 Canadians say they don't come across mental health messaging at all in daily life

2. Doctor and healthcare provider referral is the ﹟1 trust influence — but clinical tone ranks second-last for credibility

3. Personal stories and lived experience are the most credible tone across every generation surveyed

4. Gen Z is the only generation that trusts organizational endorsement over a doctor's referral

In our recent Ramp Pulse Report, we found that Gen Z is the only generation where organizational endorsement outranks doctor referral as a top trusted influence for mental health resources. A quarter of Gen Z say they don't come across mental health messaging at all, roughly in line with every other generation. Where they diverge is on trust.

We wrote about what that means for communicators: https://ramp.agency/gen-z-and-mental-health-messaging-what-the-data-shows-in-mental-health-messaging-even-when-canadians-trust-clinical-sources-copy/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=mental-health-pulse&utm_content=ramp-genz

In our recent Ramp Pulse Report, we asked Canadians two separate questions. One about what would influence whether they trust a mental health resource. One about what tone they find most credible when they encounter mental health messaging.

Doctor or healthcare provider referral is the top trust influence. Yet when asked what tone they find most credible, clinical or expert-backed content ranked second-last.

We wrote about what that tension means for communicators: https://ramp.agency/why-clinical-tone-ranks-second-last-in-mental-health-messaging-even-when-canadians-trust-clinical-sources/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=mental-health-pulse&utm_content=ramp-clinical

In our latest Pulse survey, 27% of Canadians said they don't come across mental health messaging in their daily lives at all. Among that group, 44% said nothing on our list of trusted influences would move them toward a mental health resource.

We wrote about what the data tells us, and what questions it raised that we couldn't answer yet: https://ramp.agency/over-a-quarter-of-canadians-say-they-arent-encountering-mental-health-messaging-at-all/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=mental-health-pulse&utm_content=ramp-unreached
