Judith Taylor Designs

Can I tell you one of my favourite things about attending a trade event? Getting to tour a show home and see how some of the best in the business put a home together, and this one was a gem.

Tucked into the heart of the Garden District, this beauty was designed by and featured in Veranda Magazine for very good reason.

It hit so many of my sweet spots - contemporary art mixed with historic architecture, beautiful furnishings, and just the right amount of layering.

The best part? It’s lovely without feeling precious. Luxurious, but still completely liveable.

There’s something to discover in every room, and every selection feels intentional without screaming, “Look at me!”

Exactly the kind of house I love to walk through… and quietly take notes. 😉

What New Orleans does so well (aside from jazz, creole cooking, pralines and beignets) is southern architecture and design. Pair one of their beautiful historic homes in the Garden District with the talent of and you have a recipe for jaw-dropping beauty. This gem had me at the grand porch, locked me in with the beautiful wallpaper in the gracious foyer and I was smitten. You will be too. Scroll.

There is more of this beauty to come! LOTS!

Raise your hand if your guest bathroom has become the catch-all for everything. 🙋‍♀️

Extra towels.
Cleaning supplies.
Half-used toiletries.
Random clutter.

A well-designed bathroom isn't just prettier. It's easier to live with.

Sometimes a few smart design decisions make the biggest difference.

After 3 joy and laughter-filled days in new Orleans immersed in deep learning and mentoring at the NKBA W2W conference, I wanted to start the week with a look back with immense gratitude for the incredible opportunity I've retuned from.

Women to Women (NKBA) is an annual leadership gathering that brings together 100 influential women in the kitchen and bath industry who are selected thoughtfully through a curated process. I was one of the fortunate ones to have been selected.

A few memories I will carry with me: parading through the streets of the French Quarter with a jazz quintet accompaniment, escorted by the NOLA Police Department, followed by an unforgettable dinner at Arnaud's. But that was the fun part. The deeper meaningful conversation that were held through keynote speakers, mentoring sessions, and off-line conversations about shifts and struggles affecting the industry will linger long after we catch up on sleep.

I came home weary, but inspired, empowered and grateful for the many new connections ho reminded each other what is possible when we support and uplift one another.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of the sponsors
, , , and for making this possible.

Thanks for the photo . It was an absolute delight meeting you XO!
