This past Thursday we co-hosted Community Trade Talks at Limberlost Place. We’re creating spaces where government, business, and community can be in the same room to unpack how Canada-Philippine Free Trade Agreement (CPFTA) is must open pathways for businesses, people and communities to advance across both countries. 🇨🇦🫱🏽‍🫲🏻🇵🇭

What questions do you have about the CPFTA, and how will this change the lives of everyday Filipino-Canadians?

Week 7 is about the people side of the business. 🥊 Hiring, culture, standards, feedback. All the parts that don’t show up on a P&L but determine whether it holds together.

Mikey Prez has done that in two demanding contexts with Southside Muay Thai Academy and co-founding the live sports promotion company Destiny Fight Productions where the standard is visible every single day.

Join FIRE Cohort 1 to get an in-depth view of his approach. Applications close September 7. Link in bio to apply. 🔥

Every week I talk to founders who are running on stress and second-guessing every move.

If that’s you right now, I want to say something first.

It’s okay to feel unsure.

Most of what you’re building is new. You haven’t done this exact thing before, so of course some of it feels heavy.

And it gets heavier when it feels like there’s nobody to turn to.

That’s the gap I keep thinking about.

Not just funding or resources, but a place where founders in our community can actually learn from each other and be honest about the hard parts.

That’s what FIRE is.

A room full of other founders who get exactly what you’re going through. Mentors who’ve sat where you’re sitting and can actually guide you through it. A space where no question is too small to ask.

You don’t have to figure this out by yourself anymore.
Applications for the first cohort are open. Link in bio.

Meet Renjie. He’s leading Week 4, focusing on revenue streams and pricing strategy.

renjie Renjie Bulatid is VP of Business Development at Merrimack, leading partnerships with global banks, asset managers and regulators. Before that, he led the expansion of McGill’s Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship, raising $8M+ and taking it to a Top 10 global ranking.

He’s spent his career on both sides of the table, building businesses and selling into some of the toughest institutional buyers there are.

Founders in Cohort 1 get someone who’s negotiated at that level, looking directly at what their business is worth.

Applications close September 7th. Application link in bio!

Week 3 is where positioning gets tested. 🔍

Joycelyn David CEO of AVC and Tulong Tech Ai has spent her career figuring out how brands present themselves and sharing the right messages people actually want to hear. That’s the work of competitive analysis: knowing your market well enough to know where you fit in it.

She joins FIRE Cohort 1 to help our founders find that answer for themselves.

Applications close September 7. Link in bio to apply. 🔥
