Thanks to Mary-Elizabeth Gilbert, dougal bichan, mitchie.cola, and everyone who showed up and showed their support for the latest edition of Indie Tuesdays at Linsmore Tavern. Thanks to our friends in the audience for snapping this photo ☺️

After the show we rode our bikes along the lake to the Humber River, did some night juggling, and took in the last of the fresh air before the winds changed. 😢 Stay safe and take care of yourselves, everyone.

Next: we’ll be at Toronto Folk Festival Aug 21-23. Tickets: torontofolkfestival.com

Toronto Folk Festival is special to us. We went to the first one in August 2024—the same month we picked the name Imaginary Expedition and started writing and performing together. We said to ourselves one day we’d love to play at TFF, and just 2 years later it’s actually happening. 😍 Look at all the exciting artists on this lineup.

After our July 14th performance at Linsmore Tavern’s Indie Tuesdays, TFF is the next big place to see us. Tickets at torontofolkfestival.com

Original a ca****la duet about the stages of springtime.

Lyrics:

From winter’s dream the forest awakes
Snow is heating, retreating, pulling its blanket from the lakes
Behold the sunlight lingers longer each day, stirring rivers
Turning, tossing, melting into spring

From soil and seedling carving the rock
Green is showing and growing skyward with sprouting stem and stalk
Behold the treetop branches, and every clover in the meadow
Reaching, rising, budding into spring

On a rustling wind, grey clouds cry aloud with thunder
All at once in the gathering grey, a mighty roar of thunder
Bolts of bright light divide the sky, as
Bolts illuminating the fall of
Pitter patter, pitter patter, dripping down
The rain comes spilling, puddles filling
Rivers swelling, all fortelling
Life restoring, pouring into spring

From sky to ground bright colours arise
Petals peeling, revealing blossoms of every shape and size
Behold the flowers open, vivid rainbows, sweet aromas
Lifting, drifting, blooming into spring
Melting, budding, pouring, and blooming into spring

Catch us at Toronto Folk Festival 2026!

Photos from Imaginary Expedition's post 07/08/2026

Recently went to two of the best open stages in the city for community and creative connection.
Lukesrecords’s Catweazle Club
Mike Zimmermann Acoustic Open Mic at the black pony

When we rode our bikes to the east end, we stopped for a free buffet honouring the Dali Lama’s birthday, under the huge American Elm that’s surely the oldest tree in Bellwoods Park, the Quaking Aspen grove at Harbourfront centre, and Biidaasige Park. On the ride home we stopped for a picnic on a rock at TMU writing songs overlooking the reflecting pool on a perfect green light summer night.

Will we see you Tuesday July 14th at Linsmore Tavern ?

This is going to be a nice indoor show and we’re going to play a full set, so you’ll get to hear a bunch of our songs. If you live in the east end and/or like taking subways this is a good spot to catch us.

On Monday we played at two open stages. (Then we rode bikes to visit the quaking aspen trees in the park where Victoria went to summer camp as a kid, and then ate endless mulberries from a tree at the place where Victoria went to grade school.) Thanks TRANZAC and Sarah Greene and also Bickford Brewing Co. and Mip for encouraging our shenanigans. (Thanks also to the trees.)

We are going to Catweazle Club on Thursday July 2 where Myke is headlining and we will play a couple of songs earlier on.

Saturday July 4 you can find us in the Bloor Annex BIA playing on the Bloor + Brunswick stage 11am-1pm.

Sunday July 5 we’ll be outside the The Parkdale Hall | Toronto Venue from 12-2pm during their Toronto Sunday Market which is unrelatedly dog-themed this week. 🦮🦴🐾
