At the 2026 SMART Leadership Conference, Local 285 had the chance to sit down with Ontario's Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, the Honourable David Piccini, and talk about the future.

He took the time to listen to our concerns, hear what's happening on the ground in the residential sector, and talk about the road ahead for the skilled trades in this province.
Conversations like these are how we make sure the people making decisions understand the members doing the work.
