Transition Emerging Study

Our study examines the emergence of the Transition movement in Canada, with the aim of generating information about “lessons learned” and “promising practices” that can be useful to movement leaders and participants. We will be surveying and interviewing Transition initiative co-founders, steering committee members, and members to:

- Examine how the Transition movement has unfolded and taken root in Canada;
- Document what Transition initiatives are doing, with whom, and how;
- Identify what challenges Transition initiatives have faced and how they’ve overcome these;
- Understand how Transition initiatives enable members and communities to explore new ways of thinking and doing things in everyday life and in building a resilient future together; and,
- Identify lessons learned and promising practices that can strengthen the movement
