Join us for this virtual workshop and get job interview practise!
This is the first session of our Uprooted Workshop virtual series. The sessions will be happening two Thursdays of every month for any FCJ Youth Network members to attend, until end of year.
The sessions will help equip participants with skills to develop their workplace readiness, such as CV/Resume building, practicing interview skills, mastering the job search, putting your best foot forward at a new job, and more!

Thank you to everyone who attended this weekend's conference 'Research and Advocacy: Sanctuary, Solidarity and the Politics of Migrant Justice,' and to all those who made it possible.
Throughout the various panels and roundtables, frontline practitioners, members of grassroots organizations, academics, and migrants themselves explored how Canada's immigration system institutionalizes precarity for migrants with precarious status, and what justice in the city really requires, for whom, and on what terms.
It was an intense journey of learning, powerful testimonies, and deep reflection that helped us understand where we stand and what is needed to move forward.
The conference was organized by Chair Migrant Protection & International Law, FCJ Refugee Centre, and Soli*City – An International Partnership Project, with the financial support of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and the Law Commission of Canada.

Today, we joined hundreds of people on the streets of Toronto, and many more across Canada, for the Cross-Country Day of Action for Migrant Rights. We demanded:
☑️ STATUS FOR ALL: Permanent resident status for migrants already here, and permanent resident status on arrival for migrants coming in the future.
☑️ RENEW PERMITS: Automatically renew expired and expiring work and study permits, restore status, and ensure no one is pushed into exploitation or deportation.
☑️ END EXPLOITATION: End employer-tied permits. Ensure equal labour rights, safe housing, healthcare, services, and real enforcement against abusive bosses.
☑️ STOP DEPORTATIONS: End removals, detention, family separation, and attacks on refugees.
We marched united, and united we will remain for the rights of migrants, refugees, and all people with precarious status.

Family Service Toronto and FCJ Refugee Centre invite you to join us for an interactive workshop online for migrant women about healthy and unhealthy relationships. Together we will explore common red flags and green flags in dating, learn how to recognize healthy relationship patterns, identify warning signs, and discuss the importance of boundaries, respect, communication, and emotional safety.
